Hi! So, i just wanted to tell you guys that Ädri is based off of a lot of different but totally badass goddesses from different mythologies, but I'm classifying her as an Egyptian Goddess. Her name (not Ädri, the other one) means "Snake Woman" in Arabic. I'm gonna summarize the goddesses I used here, and the trait that i've put in Ädri will have a * next to the bulletpoint. if it's just one part, though, you'll see two, i.e.: *scooch a mooch*
1) Tefnut (Ancient Egypt)
~goddess of moisture, rain, and dew
~daughter of the sun god Ra
~depicted as a lion-headed goddess, *occasionally with a serpent's body*
*~rage caused droughts
~mother of the gods of the sky and the earth
2) Mami Wata (Africa)
~Embodiment of the spirit of water
~often appears as a mermaid, accompanied by a snake (which is a symbol of divinity)
*~both protective & seductive
*~volatile, dangerous temperment
~*captures spirits* & bestows riches
3) Tiamat (Babylon)
~primeval goddess of saltwater
*~also the tragic heroine of a brutal love story
~she gave birth to the gods of the mythology and formed the world
~however, her consort Apsu, the god of freshwater, was quickly annoyed by the noise the gods made during their horseplay, and was killed trying to destroy them
~a vengeful Tiamat summoned an army of demons to fight the gods, but she was destroyed as well
~the new Babylonian king split her corpse in two to create the dome of the sky and the waters pf the earth
*~depicted as a feathered dragon
*~called the "chaos monster" by the epithet
4) Wadjit/Wadjet/Wedjat (Ancient Egypt)
~goddess of the land
*~depicted as a snake-headed woman or just a snake
~closely associated with the *Eye of Ra*
~protector of the country, pharaohs, & other deities
*~Wedjat = Eye of Horus
*~sometimes able to send fire onto potential attackers (like how a snake spits venom)
~later identified as the *war goddess* of Lower Egypt
