Loki kills without a sliver of mercy, knowing that his daughter is almost dead because of these men. More Hefna come as soon as he slaughters them, and the amount is nearly unbearable.

But that's when Thor and the Asgardian army arrive, ready to kill. Man against Hefna, and none relent. The Other, in the chaos, takes Kari's body and flees. She stays limp in his arms, disgusted by his cowardly nature to run and hide as soon as the fight gets bad. Kari knows that many are sacrificing their lives for her, but many think she is already dead.

Except for Loki, who also slips out of the battle, deciding to search for his daughter.

Kari feels herself get thrown roughly to the floor, and she holds back a groan. "The girl is dead, Master. Loki has nothing left to lose." She hears the Other say, but she has no idea as to who he's saying it to. "Excellent. Take her to the stakes. Let her body be burned for the Asgardians to see." An unknown voice replies.

Kari peaks her eyes open to see she's behind a jagged rock. Quickly and quietly, she takes out her father's throwing knife, and hides it in the palm of her hand, then shuts her eyes as the Other picks her up once more. "As you wish, master." He responds, carrying her to her real death.

But Kari won't let that happen.

After maybe five minutes, she feels herself be set down, and that's when her eyes snap open, her foot kicking the Other in the chest causing him to stumble to the floor. Kari also falls to the ground, but with a painful thud. She didn't realize the fact that she was far too weak to stand. The pain from the infinity stone is still fresh and present, preventing her from basically any movement without major strain. Not to mention the cut on her leg from the last time she was kidnapped never fully healed, and is currently bleeding.

Cursing under her breath, the teen hopelessly attempts to crawl away from the Other, now standing on his feet, snarling menacingly. "You died!" He accuses. "Well, obviously not, because I am very much alive now." She smirks, although her voice is so raw and sore that it is shameful. The throwing knife in her hand is held close, but Kari holds back, knowing the time is not right.

"Not for long." The Other pulls out a glinting dagger, and Kari holds back a whimper. She couldn't fight, and even if she tried she would be easily overpowered. In this moment, she knows, she really will die this day. "Go ahead. You've taken so many lives already, you and your master of BS." Kari doesn't exactly say BS. "Watch how you speak you filthy-" The Other doesn't get to finish his insult, for Loki is there, punching him in the jaw.

He whips around, glaring as he spots the Asgardian Prince. "Would you like to watch her die for real this time?" The Other pulls Kari up roughly, causing her to cry out. He prepares to run his dagger through her heart, but she dodges slightly, instead letting the sword run through her arm. Her scream dies as she loses her voice, too raspy to make audible sounds.

The Other pulls out his weapon harshly, and Kari can barely groan as she drops to the ground. The blood flows from her upper arm, not very slowly, and she puts pressure on it with her hand as an attempt to clot it. "You have tortured my daughter, killed my wife, and tormented my nights. This ends now, rabid creature." Loki is beyond livid, his eyes practically frozen with fury.

The Other smiles crudely, yellow teeth gleaming, and beckons the father forward. Gripping their daggers the two charge at each other. The battle is so swift it is practically a blur, but Kari does not focus on them. She focuses on her currently bleeding out state.

The wound on her leg is nothing compared to her arm, which feels like it's on fire. Considering the dagger literally went straight through her arm, it makes sense. Taking the throwing knife, she shreds her leather leggings into strips, using them all to dress the wound that may or may not be fatal.

Breathing heavily, the daughter of Loki makes sure her makeshift bandages are secure around her arm, before looking to see her father in combat. There's so much movement it's impossible to tell who is winning. Kari wants to help, but she's left handed, her left arm is the one that got stabbed, and she doesn't trust her aim right-handed.

That, and she's not sure if she could hit the Other. The two are moving so fast she might hit her father accidentally. So she just puts pressure back on her injury, praying she and her father make it out alive of the mess that is currently their lives.

It's not long before black dots cloud Kari's vision. The amount of blood she's losing combined with the energy and magic she's exerted should have rendered her unconscious long ago, but she continues to fight to stay awake. The princess easily knows she will never wake up once she falls asleep, but the darkness beckoning her is tempting.

She's in so much pain, and it would finally bring her peace. 'No,' she thinks to herself, 'what will my father think? Or Uncle Thor? Or Artemis? Or Calder?' The reminder of her friends and family are what give her the willpower to keep fighting, keep surviving.

Kari is starting to drift off against her will when she hears the war cry of the Asgardian warriors. Despite her pain and misery, she smiles, knowing that they won. The only one left to die is the Other.

But just as she focuses on the battle before her, she loses the fight against oblivion, and falls unconscious. The last thing she processes, is her uncle running towards her, and the final scream of the Other.

Loki glares at the now dead creature that tore his family apart. The only being left to kill now is Thanos, but that is a war for another time, and he knows it. "Brother!" Thor calls out, and the god of mischief turns to see the red-caped god holding his daughter, who isn't moving in the slightest. "Karina!" Loki sprints towards his daughter, even though she is only a metre or two away.

Kneeling down, he stares at his daughter and checks her pulse. It is extremely weak, but it is there. "We must get her to a healer immediately. She does not have long." The frost giant states, taking her in his arms.

Loki breaks into a run, hurrying to the passage back to Asgard, the only chance of saving his daughter. The warriors remain, searching for any remaining Hefna, but Thor takes off after his brother. Kari was his niece, blood related or not. As the mischievous prince opens the portal, the god of thunder helps him through. The opening of the entrances requires a lot of magic, and drains the Asgardian greatly, but Thor is there to steady him and continue their mission.

By the time they arrive to the healers, both are frantic and terrified. Eir, the lead healer sees the state the princess is in, and rushes to prepare for the work ahead of her. "Will she be alright?" Loki asks refusing to leave like a healer demands. "I have yet to figure that out. Your highness if you would just step out-" "I will not leave until my daughter is safe and fully recovered." He decides, and the healer gives up.

Eir shouts commands to other healers, quick to work on her patient. She stitches up both sides of Kari's arm, who, miraculously, does not require a blood transfusion, even with the amount she has lost. Asgardians have stronger genetics than mortals, even halflings like the young raven-haired girl.

After about four hours, the healers all take a break, having tried everything in their power. "Will she live?" Loki questions frantically. "Your daughter will heal, but she has slipped unconscious. We do not have any indication of when she will wake up, but we will continue to do all in our power to help her." A young healer states. She appears to be two years older than Karina.

"But will she continue to survive?" Loki rephrases. "That is up to her." The young woman whispers.
