To many people want to forget
Whether it was a tragedy
Or error
Or a stupid phase you had as a child
But I ask why
Our happy memories give us joy
Our errors give us lessons
Our sad memories give us strength
Our stupid ones give us laughs
The past is our ally
It gives us everything
It's what allows us to keep moving
It guides us
Even the tragedies
Yes even those are worth remembering
Tragedies show us that there are people out there
Who truly care
And also
It gives us the tool kit to help others
In their time of need
