My name is Jocelynn Turner. I'm what you would call a Death Watcher. Don't know what that is? Neither did I. I'm what most people would call a medium, one of those people who talk to the dead—hence the name.
My mother had warned me about the Shadow Man, but I figured he wouldn't come for me just yet. She said I had until I was fully matured. But it turns out modern-day-mature and Shadow-Man-mature are two different things.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. As with every story, we need to start at the beginning.
