Falling for You

Part 4

I woke up with the sound of my alarm. I got up and got ready for work. For once, I was early to work but I wasn't that eager to go. I drove my car to the building and parked my car. I entered the building and found Isla at the reception. I wasn't in the talking mood so I quickly went into the elevator before she could see me. The ride up was long and quiet. When the doors opened, I saw no one was there. The lights were still turned off and everything was the way it was just like yesterday.

I went to my cubicle and got ready for work. I finished my other project and so far, there was really nothing to do so I went to get breakfast in the cafeteria. The cafeteria was big but empty. I got a coffee and sat in a corner near the entrance. After finishing up my coffee, I decided to go back upstairs. I got in the elevator and just when it was closing, someone stuck their hand in. To my surprise, it was Harvey.

"Good morning beautiful", Harvey said as he got in. He pushed the button to the 60 floor. "Good morning Harvey", I said looking down at the floor. "So how was your first day. I bet you liked it", he said smiling at me. "It was interesting. And that reminds me, do you have any projects I can work on", I said looking at him now. "Projects? Didn't you get one", he said a little confused. "Oh no I did get one but I already finished it". He looked at me shocked and said,"You finished it already. That must have taken hours". I could really tell he was surprised. "Yeah, I was here pretty late so you know, I finished it". He just stared at me as I talked. "Wow ok, well I'll bring you one down". Why would he have to bring me one down when I could just get it with him. "None sense, I'll get it with you. That way you can save a trip down." When I said this, his face became all serious. "Look Blair, it's ok. I don't mind getting it for you myself. Besides, I'm sure Nate might have told you that you are not allowed up there". What is it with these people, not wanting me to go upstairs. "Um, yeah ok. He did tell me". I could tell he still had something on his mind, but whatever. The elevator reached 60 and the doors opened. "Well, this is my stop so I'll see you when you bring me the project", I said stepping off but then he came out too. "Blair, I just want to make sure everything is ok on this floor. I usually do this every morning so get used to it", he said. "Oh ok, then I'll see you", I said as I went the opposite direction he went.

More people were up here now. I went into my cubicle and set my things up. A girl in front of me watched me as I did this. "Um, do you mind", I said to her so she could stop starring, but she didn't. "My old boyfriend used to sit there. Looking at you in his seat makes me wanna throw up. I suggest you not look at me from now on", she said as she gave me an ugly glare. Ugh, girls like that make me sick. Guess I'm just going to have to live with it. I rolled my eyes at her and went to get a coffee from the break room. When I entered, there was a guy microwaving something. He noticed me and introduced himself. "Hi, your new here right. My name is Nate and I'm a secretary of the associates". He was really nice unlike the other guys and he was really pretty. "Hi, I'm Blair. Yea I'm new here. Your like the first person I've talked to since I got here", I said smiling while laughing. He started laughing to and so we had breakfast together in the break room. "Well I have to go do some work but we should hangout sometime Blair", he said getting up from his seat. I actually liked him. "Sure, I would love that. See you around", I said as he left the room. I soon left the room too and headed to my cubicle. There was still no project or files on my desk. I guess I'm just gonna have to wait for Harvey. I spent the rest of the day organizing things.

It was the afternoon, and Harvey still didn't show up. I was getting impatient and decided to leave work early, maybe hangout with Nate. So I called him up and he agreed. I was packing my things when the elevator opened. I looked back and it was Harvey. "Hey, sorry it took so long. Hey wait, what are you doing out here. Your supposed to have an office, not cubicle. And why are you packing your things? Works not over yet",he said a little confused. "Well, the office thing is a long story and I'm leaving early cause I have a date", I said while packing up my things. "Long story and a date. Who are you going with", he asked a little irritated. "I'm going with Nate", I answered packing up my last thing. He looked at me shocked and frowned. "So Nate asked you on a date and you agreed", he asked. "No, I wanted to hangout with him so I called him up", I replied putting on my bag and pressing the button to the elevator. "Wait Nate gave you his number". "Yea, he gave it to me today at breakfast". "You had breakfast with him too". "I mean yea, I had nothing else better to do". "Well I came here to give you your project and have fun I guess", and he left like that without saying goodbye. Huh, what's his problem. I got in the elevator and pushed the button for the lobby. I exited the building and went to my car and drove home to get ready for my date.
