Falling for You

Part 14

I could hear them talking in the background. They had my complete attention now. I got out of my seat and went toward the door. I opened it and found two astonishingly gorgeous men looking at me. Nathan, glared at me, and Josh looked surprised, but then smiled.

"Blair, go back inside", Nathan said and apologized back to Josh for my interruption.

"Hey Blair", Josh said and stuck out his hand. I shook his hand and noticed Nathan glaring at me.

"Mr. Raymond, please follow me to my office", Nathan said to Josh.

"Of course", Josh said and entered the office as I followed the two men. Nathan sat behind his desk and Josh sat on the sofa in front of him, taking out some documents. I went back to my desk and went back to doing my work.

"So, I wanted to talk to you about the negotiation. Holly has decided that she will take the deal", Josh said as he took out some papers. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but after I heard Holly's name, I couldn't help it.

"I am listening", Nathan said as he took the papers from Josh's hand. I watched them from the side.

"Except, there is one condition Holly wants. It had to do with the...the Hall", Josh said, looking a little uncomfortable by saying it. What is the hall? Why are they talking about Holly? Why do I ask so much questions?

"So she says-", Josh began but Nathan cut him.

"Blair, please leave the room", he said looking towards me.

"It's okay. I am not bothered by your conversation. Continue talking", I said as I went back to writing something.

"Blair, get out now", Nathan said. now getting up.

"But Nath-". He cut me short, took my hand, and brought me to the door. I walked out and the he said,"You can come back in when I am done with my meeting. Go to Harvey's room now". With that, he shut the door. Ugh, guess I have no choice. I went to Harvey's room and saw that he was not there. I guess this was a good chance to go down to the cafeteria and grab something. I headed for the elevator. As I walked through the hallways, someone stopped me.

"Where do you think your going", Harvey said as he stopped me by holding on to my arm.

"To the cafeteria", I said as I pulled my arm away.

"You can't right now. Come with me", he said. I was tired of fighting so I followed him. We walked to the hallway but then took a different turn.

"Harvey, the office is the other way".

"We are not going to the office".

"Well, then where are we going?"

"To the penthouse". Why are we going there? He entered another hallway and then went to the door. I recognized the room from the number on the door. Suite 1122. He unlocked it with his key card and went in. I followed in. Harvey walked to the kitchen and got me a granola bar.

"Here, if you are hungry, eat this".

"Um, thanks", I said as I sat down and started eating it.

"So, I thought I told you to stay in Nathan's office if I wasn't there".

"Well, Nathan kicked me out", I answered honestly. I mean that was the truth.

"Did you do something to get him mad?"

"No, I think he got mad because I was listening to his conversation while he was in a meeting", I said, while finishing up my granola bar.

"Oh, let me tell you something. Never mess with Nathan. If you do, he will do everything in his power to take you down", he said as he sat down in front of me. "By the way, who was he talking to?"

"He was talking to Josh".

"Josh? Who is that?".

"Oh, Josh is Holly's lawyer/ cousin".

"How do you know all this", he asked a little curious.

"Well, me and Josh hung out once and he helped me out". When I said this, he seemed to be in deep thought.

"Wait, do you mean Josh Raymond?".

"Oh yes, him".

"Well what were they talking about?", he asked even more curious now.

"Well, from what I heard, Holly agreed on some negotiation but she had a request or something. Then he explained that it had something to do with the hall or something. When he was about to explain, Nathan told me to get out until the meeting was over". A frown then appeared on his face. I heard him murmur he knows.

"What was that", I asked.

"Um, nothing. Can you not talk to Josh anymore. As a favor for me please?, he asked. Ugh, first Dan, now Josh.

"Okay, can you please tell me why I can't talk to Dan or Josh". He was now looking at me with a serious expression.

"Blair, we do the things we do for your own good. Please, just listen to me and stay away". He then got up from his seat and came closer to me. I was about to get up but he pushed me down by my shoulders.

"I..I care...I care about you. And I don't want to see you get hurt. There is a lot you don't know about this place and I would appreciate it if we kept it that way. I know your curious and confused, but it would hurt me to see you get hurt in the process. So please, stay quiet", he said coming closer to my face. He cares about me. Someone cares about me. "Promise me". His voice was deep and his face was so close that I could feel his breath on my neck. "Promise me Blair", he said again. I was just about to answer when the penthouse doors opened. We both looked up and saw it was Nathan. Then I realized, that Harvey was right in front of my face, literally on top of me, caging me. We both realized the situation and quickly separated.

"Am I interrupting something", Nathan asked, anger evident on his face.

"No, we were just about done here", Harvey said as he fixed his suit and straightened his hair. I got up and stood awkwardly in between the two men.

"Well, I think it's time I go back to work", I said. I headed for the door when it opened itself. The person behind the door emerged and I couldn't believe who it was. Dan. The one person I was told to stay away from was in front of me. Fuck. What is going to happen?
