Chapter 42

{Ryley's POV}
*Skip To The First Day Of Summer *
Up until now I haven't really done anything out of the normal, Me and Hunter are as strong as ever, I haven't said a word to Jonas. Mom is happy finally and it's all been really chill. There's been a few lawyer meetings but I'm okay with that.
In a few hours I have dinner with Jonas. Right now I'm sitting on my bed, contemplating what to do. I can't face him. I can't look at him. And I have to have supper with him! Gosh.
I picked up my phone and called Hunter.
He picked up right away.
"Hey baby"
"Hunter, I need you"
"I'm on my way. Be there In 15"
"Okay"
I hung up trying to calm myself down a bit but I just couldn't, I have to face the man who has been beating me my whole life. The man who says "Hun" or "darling" when people are around but when it's just me and him... it's so different.

Time flew by and soon enough there was a knock on the door. I ran downstairs, opened the door and jumped in his arms.
I held on really tight and so did he, he dropped everything in his hands and held onto me .
After a few minutes I let go wiping away a few tears.
I walked him up to my bedroom after helping pick everything up off the ground.
We laid down on my bed and I immediately cuddled up to him.
"I brought chocolates and candy" He smiled playing with my hair.
"All I need rn is you"
Everything was silent for a few minutes but then Hunter sat up and took my hands.
"What's going on cupcake"
"I can't go to the dinner with Jonas" I frowned
"Ryley, if you don't go he could automatically get visitation rights. You need to go"
"But I can't be there alone with him Hunter"
"I'll come okay? Don't cry wifey"
That made me smile and giggle a bit but then I remembered what happened.
Oh no.
"Hunter, I can't ask you to go. What happened before..."
"Listen, I can't let him hurt you. We do need to talk about what happened before.... I punched your dad"
I smiled a bit at the thought of how protective he is.
"Yes, yes you did. Thank you" I kissed Hunters cheek.
He gasped and looked at me.
"I punched your dad in the face for you and all I get is a kiss on the cheek? How dare you?!?"
I looked at Hunter and smiled.
I leaned in and kissed him. The kiss was smooth and rough at the same time. It was lovely.
We both pulled away, immediately Hunter picked up the chocolate.
He looked at me like this

"Food?"
I smiled "Okay, what are we watching on Netflix today? One episode and then we get ready"
"Ummmm, oooo. We have to watch Jane The Virgin" Hunter laughed.
He knows I love that show. He hates it. He says there's too much drama and it makes him uncomfortable 😂 It really made me feel good to know that he was giving up what he wanted to watch for some tv show that's like a Spanish soap opera for me😂
"Thanks babe" I smiled taking a piece of chocolate
We finished the full episode without Hunter falling asleep this time! That's great! He was actually really into it which made the experience even better.
I closed the laptop as soon as it was over since the episodes are 45 mins long, because we need to get ready. Well, I need to get ready, Hunters already done.
I stood up and went into my closet to find an outfit.
Hunter was still laying on my bed but he was staring at me.
"You know, we should do that more often, that was fun"
I smiled
"I got you into the tv show didn't I" I smiled a evil grin.
"Okay I admit it, you did. You broke me Ryley!"
I ran over and jumped on him.
"FINALLLYY!!"
We both started laughing but then I remembered what I was going to ask him.
"Oooohh Hunter, help me chose an outfit. Which one?"
I tried on two outfits and let him ponder on it for a minute.

"For this occasion I like the first one. You look......wow"
I smiled starting on picking out my shoes.
Hunter was wearing the ones I got him so I might as well wear mine too(the same shoes)
