Niall's P.O.V. *

****************

I opened my eyes and looked at my surroundings.

I was in a meadow. The sun was peaking out from the tree tops, the rays resting on me like fairy dust. The dew drops lying lightly on the green grass below my feet. It was peaceful, and it was beautiful.

I looked down to see I was wearing a tan T-shirt with jeans along with my white Supras.

Suddenly, I heard a noise to my left. I looked up, startled, to see someone.

A girl.

And boy, was she beautiful.

Her long blonde hair cascaded over her shoulders, blue sundress rippling in the wind. Her eyes were a piercing green, almost the color of the grass. The sun bounced off of her, making it seem like she was glowing.

She was gorgeous.

I felt a warm, fuzzy feeling come over me, and my confusion disappeared.

She started towards me, and I froze up. Who is this girl? And where am I

She reached where I was standing, and motioned for me to sit down. Suddenly there was a guitar in my hand, and I sat with it in my lap. The girl next to me sat down too, plopping down on the soft grass floor.

With no thought, I started playing. The chords flowed from my fingers to the strings, making a wondrous melody fill the air. I soon realized the song, "Small Bump" by my friend Ed. It fit the mood perfectly, the smooth sound taking over my senses.

And then, I started to sing:

"You're just a small bump unborn, in four months you're brought to life

Might be left with my hair, but you have your mother's eyes

I'll hold your body in my hands, be as gentle as I can

But for now you're a scan of my unmade plans

A small bump, in four months you're brought to life

And I'll whisper quietly, and give you nothing but truth

If you're not inside me, I'll put my future in you

You are my one and only, and you can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight

Well you are my one and only, you can wrap you're fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight

And you'll be alright

Ooh, you're just a small bump, I know, you'll grow into your skin

With a smile like hers and a dimple beneath your chin

Finger nails the size of a half grain of rice, and eyelids closed to be soon open wide

A small bump in four months you'll open your eyes

And I'll hold you tightly, and tell you nothing but truth

If you're not inside me, I'll put my future in you"

I looked up to see her staring at me intently, hanging on my every word. She moved her hands down to her stomach, rubbing it lightly. She was pregnant. I didn't notice until now her stomach bulging slightly from under her dress. I was instantly filled with joy and happiness.

Somehow, I knew that that baby was mine. I had helped create the child inside of her. I was going to be a father. And I couldn't be happier. I continued singing to the girl and my unborn child:

"You are my one and only, you can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight

Well you are my one and only, you can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight

And you'll be alright

You can lie with me with your tiny feet when you're half asleep, I'll leave you be

Right in front of me, for a couple weeks, so I can keep you safe"

The lyrics spilled from my mouth with no effort, these lyrics spoke how I felt. I was going to be a dad.

"'Cause you are my one and only, you can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight

You are my one and only, you can wrap your fingers 'round my thumb and hold me tight

And you'll be alright

Well you were just a small bump unborn for four months, then torn from lif-"

My throat caught, I felt like I was about to cry. I looked up to the girl carrying my kid. She had tears brimming in her eyes, she looked down to her stomach, rubbing her tummy, where there was no longer a bulge. She looked heartbroken, and I did too. I had to finish the song though, so I continued singing:

"Maybe you were needed up there, but we're still unaware as why"

As I finished the song, the girl threw her arms around my neck, sobs racking through her body. I wrapped my arms around her torso, letting the tears fall. I felt an overwhelming sense of sadness and grief wash over me. It was unparalleled.

So we sat there, crying in each others arms, mourning the loss of our unborn child...

A/N!!!!!

Hi everyone! My name is Claire and this is my first fanfic I have written here on Wattpad, so I hope you guys like it. I am gonna update around once a week once I have gotten some more chapters written. For this I would ask at least one comment and two votes for me to upload the next chapter, if it's not too much to ask :) This is an original story so please don't steal it. I will look at our story if you want me to when I have time. On the sidebar is the song "Small Bump" and the picture I think fits the meadow. Here are the songs I listened to while writing this chapter:

-Small Bump By Ed Sheeran

-Queen of Hearts by We The Kings

-In My Veins by Andrew Belle
