i was just about to kiss the girl i've been crushing on for way too and blossom decides to turn up at her door? what did she even want from betty? it was 7 pm on a friday, surely she had better things to do. it also confused me where she knew where betty lived.

betty rushed downstairs with me following behind. cheryl was at the door and seemed to be in no grave danger as the situation was made out to be. she wore a simple red dress that hugged around her curves. cheryl had her strawberry hair curled at the ends, like she was going somewhere special.

bettys mom gave a look at the girl at the door, well more like a glare, before patting her back and going up the stairs. i had noticed betty always seemed uncomfortable with her mom around. cheryl tapped her foot, waiting for her mom to be out of sight before speaking up.

"okay! since you obviously did not get the memo," cheryl spoke, looking at us up and down, "we're having this party to celebrate all the football games our guys have won. cheerleaders are invited too. it's tonight in two hours, and i texted you guys almost an hour ago and never replied." she informed us while twirling her hair around her finger.

"it's going to be at my house..." cheryl paused and looked around the house. okay, she obviously wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon.
"would you like to come in?" betty said in an exasperated tone of voice. cheryl hummed in content,
"yes, i would." she stepped in, her heels clacking on to the tile ground. the three of us walked over the kitchen where betty handed her a glass of cold water.

i crossed my leg over the other and me and betty exchanged a glance as to say "why is she here?" then looked back at the girl.

"so, cheryl. what do you want?" betty stayed silent so i was speaking up. cheryl tapped her fingers on the side of the glass,
"nothing! honestly. just wanted to reconnect with a couple of friends." she smiled widely, but it seemed very forced. i gave cheryl a look, raising my eyebrows up. her tone of voice was giving away her true motives.

cheryl breathed out, like she had been holding her breath for a long time. "okay look, if you tell anybody about this, i'll murder you." i moved a bit closer to betty as cheryl spoke. there had been a rumour going around that cheryl killed jason and i wasn't about to be her next victim.

"anyways, you all know archie, yeah? well, we kind of made out at this party and we've been talking a lot ever since and now i'm like, seriously crushing on him." cheryl said the words so quickly i almost missed it, but i heard it loud and clear. it was funny seeing her like this, but i couldn't trust her.

"so, you come to betty's house just to use her to find out how to get your little crush to like you back? you ginger she-devil —" before i went on with my little angry rant, betty stopped me.
"veronica, hey!" betty looked at me sharply before facing cheryl, "i've known archie my entire life. i can see why you would fall for him that fast." betty seemed hurt. i just wished she would let go of archie, but you could never forget your first love.
"you have to let the relationship develop by itself, you can't force this on to him so fast. when you feel you're both ready, tell him." betty was deep in thought while saying this.

i hadn't realized i was staring at her this whole time.

hope u guys are enjoying this so far!! i have a pretty clear idea on where i'm going with this fic, so i'll try to update as much as i can.
