102: I'll Come Back

Mai Waifu x Alex (YandereDev):

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" Alex shouted jokingly. Mai looked down at him from her bedroom window, smiling and laughing. He always called her Rapunzel because of her long, pink hair. She jokingly threw it out of her window, knowing it wouldn't reach the floor. "Come on, Mai." He laughed, jumping up pretending to reach for her hair. She stepped away from the window, before appearing out the front door a minute later.
"Come on then." Mai sarcastically sighed, taking hold of his hand and leading him down the street. He laughed and caught up to her, still holding her hand. They had been dating for almost a year now, and had been dubbed the cutest couple at Akademi High school.

That day, they stood on the roof together holding hands and looking at the cherry blossom tree. They both remembered when Alex had confessed his feelings for her under that tree, even though it was ages ago.
"I have a confession." Alex said, breaking the silence. Mai looked at him, a little confused. "I was given an opportunity to go to America for a year to study programming professionally. I leave this Friday."
"No!" Mai shouted, letting go of his hand. She was upset and angry, she didn't want him to go. "You can't leave, Alex!" Tears of anger ran down her cheeks.
"It's too late, Mai. I've already paid for everything." Alex sighed. He genuinely felt bad for her, he didn't want to leave her but this was his future. He wanted a bright future so he could provide for her when they were older.
"But it's our one year anniversary next week." She sobbed, sadly. She didn't want him to go for a year.
"Mai, I'm so sorry." He sighed, putting his arms around her and allowed her to cry on his shoulder. "I'll be back before you know it." He said. She said something, but it was muffled in his shirt. "I love you, Mai." He told her, kissing her forehead.

That Friday, the day Alex was scheduled to leave for America, Mai had asked him to meet her under the cherry blossom tree after school. He ran to the tree a minute after she arrived.
"I wanted to give you this before you left." Mai said, presenting the box from behind her back to him. He took it and opened it. Inside the box was a framed photo of the pair.
"Thank you so much Mai." Alex smiled, putting his arms around her. She hugged him back, and the pair just stood in silence embracing each other as cherry blossom petals fell around them.
"I'll never forget you, Alex." Mai said when he let go and started to head away from her so he wouldn't miss his flight. She wouldn't forget him. She could still call and text him, but it wouldn't be as good as seeing him face to face.

Throughout the year apart, Mai and Alex kept in constant communication. They were calling and texting each other at any available opportunity. She missed being able to hug and kiss him, but at least he would be home soon.

Mai stood in the airport waiting for Alex. He had phoned to say he'd landed safely, meaning he would be out soon. She was impatient, desperate to see him again. He stepped out of baggage reclaim, and his eyes instantly fell on her.
"Mai!" He shouted, sprinting towards her. She looked over at him, smiling widely.
"Alex!" She shouted, also running towards him. They didn't care that everyone was staring at them. They met and hugged each other, kissing passionately. "I missed you so much." She said, tears of happiness streaming down her face.
"I got you this." He told her, breaking out of the hug and getting down on his knee. He removed a small, black box from his pocket, and opened it, revealing a silver ring. "I thought about you every second I was away from you. I love you with all my heart, and I don't want to live without you by my side. Will you marry me, Mai?" He asked.
"Yes!" She screamed, delighted. He put the ring on her finger. He stood up, only to be tackled into a hug by his new fiancée.
