Midori Gurin & Oka Ruto:

Midori walked to the rooftop, frowning a little. She wasn't on her phone like usual. People had started calling her 'annoying', 'obnoxious' and 'a waste of air'. Their words hurt Midori, even if they didn't know. She looked around, seeing everyone else on their phones, everyone except Oka. The small occult enthusiast walked with her hands cupped looking down. She was one of the few people who hadn't made any comments online to her. She decided to talk to her.
"Oka-chan!" She shouted a little enthusiastically, running towards her. She looked up, a little surprised to see Midori.
"Oh, h-hey Midori." She stuttered shyly as the green haired girl caught up to her. They continued walking to the roof together, ignoring the cold and unforgiving stares. Others stared as they passed, but they didn't notice anymore.

They reached the rooftop, sitting down somewhere away from the other students. Neither of them wanted to be around the others. As they sat down, Midori received a message on her phone. It was a Facebook notification. She read it, frowning.
"W-what's wrong?" Oka asked, seeing the frown on her face. Midori sighed as she showed Oka the message.
You're so stupid, just like the questions you keep asking because you're stupid.
"Almost everyone sends me these messages, except you. Why is that, Oka-chan?" Midori asked, still holding her phone. Oka gently took it, searching for something on Facebook. A minute later, she handed the phone back. Displayed on the screen was Oka's Facebook profile, and the messages that had been sent to it.
- Go back to the graveyard where you came from.
- lol it's not Halloween, stop looking so creepy.
She was frowning when Midori looked up at her. Small tears dampened her eyes.
"I wouldn't say anything nasty to anyone online knowing how it feels to receive those messages." Midori hugged her. She hugged back, sighing.
"Thank you, Oka-chan." Midori smiled, breaking out of the hug. She gently took hold of Oka's hands. "We will get through this. We know we can do this." She smiled encouragingly at Oka, who gave her a small smile back. "Let's show them we stand together." Midori suggested, opening the camera app. She put her arm around Oka, taking a selfie with her. She smiled as she posted it to Facebook, not even caring about the comments she was expecting.
"Why did you do that?" Oka asked a little hesitantly, as she saw Midori post the picture. The green haired girl shrugged her shoulders casually.
"To show them their words don't bring us down." Midori stated, smiling. They heard the sound of the school bell, signalling the start of class. They both stood up and went to their respective classes.

That night, Midori sat at her computer like usual. She was a little curious about the photo she'd sent, and wanted to see the comments. She was a little hesitant when she opened the photo and read the comments.
- Look! It's annoying-chan and freaky-chan.
- haha. Always knew the weirdest and stupidest girls would be friends.
- you were on the roof? Why didn't you both jump holding hands?
Midori closed the page angrily. She hated that people were saying these things about her. She decided to call Oka, seeing if she had read the messages.
Midori: Oka-chan! Have you seen the comments on the photo I posted this morning?
Oka: yeah...
Midori: Oka-chan! Why do they keep saying these things about us?
Oka: I... I don't know...
Midori: ok... goodnight Oka-chan.
Oka: goodnight, Midori. Don't think about the messages, ok?
Midori: ok.

The next day, they met up at the school gates. Midori could see the sad expression on Oka's face. She assumed correctly Oka was upset about the photo incident last night.
"Oka-chan!" Midori shouted her name, running towards her. She nearly crashed into Oka, making the smaller girl yelp. Her arm collided with Midori, causing pain to shoot through her arm. Midori noticed. "Oka-chan is your arm in pain? You sounded like it hurt when it hit me." Oka frowned a little, shrugging her shoulders. Midori grabbed hold of her wrist and pulled down her glove, revealing many red lines. "What is this, Oka-chan?" Midori demanded an answer. She pulled her glove up silently, not looking up at Midori. She then did something Midori didn't expect her to. She began to sob. Loudly. Midori let her wrist go and put her arms around the small girl, comforting her.
"T-their words... hurt." She sobbed. Midori brushed away her tears for the next 5 minutes as they continued falling.
"Come on." She grabbed Oka's wrist and began to lead her into the school. She was confused.
"W-where are we going?" She asked hesitantly. Midori stopped, turning around and putting both her hands on Oka's shoulders.
"We're going to the guidance counsellor. She can't ignore this." She insisted, continuing to lead Oka to the counsellors office. "We'll show her every message, the cuts on your arms. This ends now." She had never been more determined in her life to do something, especially after her friend had hurt herself to make the words silence themselves in her mind. She could take their words for now, but she couldn't let this get any worse.
