The passing weeks had come easy for Kensi who was now 13 weeks into her pregnancy. The morning sickness still happened once, maybe twice a day according to her surroundings, but it managed to go unnoticed to her coworkers. She'd framed the photo's of her first and second ultrasounds cherishing the sight of her growing child she'd come to love so deeply, not knowing she could possibly loose it all
It was a routine stakeout where she sat in a deadly silent car with her partner who hadn't bothered to be anything but professional with the brunette. He'd given up hope on having a relationship, or even a friendship with the woman who for the past three months had barely spoken to him, but their complicated relationship didn't affect their smooth partnership. The pair still trusted each other with their lives, but their hearts were a completely different story
Kensi and Deeks after spotting movement in the warehouse breached the breached the building and were now in pursuit of their suspects. Deeks had followed the first guy out into the street while Kensi chased the second into an alleyway where he seemingly disappeared or so she thought
The last thing she remembered was an unbearable pain in both her head and stomach before falling into the darkness that clouded her vision "My Baby" were the words Deeks heard her utter before falling to the ground. He made an instinctive decision to rush to his partner's aid instead of chasing down the two suspects who bolted down the street. Her light colored jeans were now stained in blood, and so was her head where she had been hit
He picked her up, rushing over to the car where he drove at full speed to the hospital carrying her limp body in. Doctors rushed to his aid carrying the unconscious agent in back with him following. He refused to leave her side, so he called Callen and Sam to let them know what was going on before heading into the exam room where doctors began stripping her of her clothes
He noticed the tiny almost unnoticeable bump in her stomach, and finally knew what she meant when she said 'my baby' "She's pregnant" he said out loud. The doctor had him wait outside the door before continuing with Kensi.
He paced back and forth for about an hour before the male doctor stepped out to speak with him "Mr. Deeks she's awake now." said the older man
"Is the baby okay? I noticed she was bleeding and that's not supposed to happen" He Rambled
"The baby's amniotic sac was able to do its job in protecting him from the blows, but she has painful bruises along her abdomen along with a concussion so she'll need to be on bed rest for two weeks the least and a follow up with her OBGYN" The doctor informed "He's a strong little guy" He continued, but all the blonde detective could focus on was the fact that his son was okay.
He never imagined having another child after his first son's death, his boy was his everything and losing him still hurts like hell. He was happy that his twins turned out to be girls because he wasn't ready to give his love to another little boy, but he was over the moon hearing that his son would be okay

He stepped into the room where she laid staring at the most recent ultrasound photo. She didn't know the gender of the baby, the doctor mistakenly let it slip with Deeks not even noticing his mistake "Can I?" he asked, and she handed over the photo "He's already so perfect"
Kensi: what do you mean he? Is it a boy?
"I'm so sorry, I thought you knew." He immediately apologized, but she wasn't upset. She'd been dying to find out the gender of her baby, her appointment was actually only a few days away "Kens why didn't you tell me?" he asked, making the smile fall from her face
Kensi: like you told me about your kids?
"Touché, but this baby is part me. I know things between us have been difficult over the past few weeks, but do you honestly think I'd let you do this on your own?"
Kensi: I wanted to do this on my own. I didn't want you feeling like because you got me pregnant you have to stick around
"Has it ever occurred to you that I want to be here? That I want to be with you? You're not some rebound choice for me. I care about you, and I know you're skeptical because of Zara, but I'm not in love with her. Sure Ilovedherfirst, and I'll always have love for her, but we're just friends. Barely even that at this point. I want you Kens, and I want our son"
Kensi: I don't know if that's what I want.
"I understand, and you can take your time in thinking about it, but I want to be here for you. I want to be here for our baby, so please let me"
Kensi: I won't keep you away if it's what you want, but I'm not good at asking for help, and this is all new to me, so promise you'll be patient
"I promise, and I also promise we'll take this one step at a time. I know I'm skating on thin ice with you, but I promise I'll never let you feel alone in this" he leaned over to place a kiss to her forehead "Get some rest; we'll need all the energy we've got when the team gets here"
Kensi: you wanna tell them about the baby? About us?
"I don't want Hetty sending you out into the field, and their all gonna ask why so for the safety of you and my son I think it's best we told them. As for you and me, I'll leave that up to you"
She sighed as she closed her eyes. Kensi knew he was right, she needed to tell the team, but that could wait until she's released from the hospital. Right now all she wanted was to enjoy the fact that in a few short months she'll be the mother of a beautiful baby boy. There was absolutely nothing that could ruin her mood
