"Hey can we talk?" Deeks questioned his ex wife before stepping into her home for thanksgiving dinner. This year's celebration was held at Zara's place, and the Indian woman had generously extended extended the invitation to Deeks and Kensi's teammates. Callen had brought his girlfriend Talia who's already a close family friend to both Deeks and Zara. Hetty showed up with a very costly bottle of wine, Eric and Nell came together and Sam had brought along his wife Michelle and their two kids Kamran and Aiden
"Is something wrong?" Zara questioned, wondering why he was avoiding joining everyone inside
He had been meaning to talk with her about his engagement to his partner, but didn't want to ambush her with the news in the presence of everyone, knowing just how difficult it had been for Zara to accept kensi into their family dynamic
"I've been trying all week to tell you this, I just didn't want to do it in front of the whole family. Things with Kens and me were moving fast since day one, but being with her makes me happier than I've been in a long time and I wanted you to hear from me that I asked her to marry me. She said yes"He informed her, but surprisingly he got no immediate reaction
"Congratulations" Said Zara "I'll admit that watching you build a life, a family with her when your the only man I've ever loved hasn't been easy, but it's time I moved on and she's good for you and great with our kids so if you want to marry her then I'm really happy for you both" She told him, before giving him a hug "Now are you ready to go inside or is there something else you'd like to get off your chest?"
"Nothing I can think of at the moment, but thank you for your support. It really means a lot to me and it will mean even more to Kensi" He told her
"Yeah, I'll be sure to tell her that I don't think she's a home wrecking whore" Zara retorted, pulling him into her two story home that sat on a thirty acre property behind steel automatic gates.
They joined their now blended families that gathered in the beautifully decorated living room. He immediately smiled seeing that she'd set up a beautiful white bassinet beside the couch for baby Noah

"It's just really sweet that you thought of the baby" He told her "You did put that out here for Noah didn't you?"
"No, I bought it for you" She retorted sarcastically, rolling her eyes "Of course it's for the Noah, thanksgiving dinner usually goes on forever with everyone drinking and catching up and I wanted the little guy to be comfortable." She explained
Kensi: that was very thoughtful, thank you
"You're welcome, and congratulations on your engagement. Your going to make a beautiful bride" Said Zara, surprising the junior agent by giving her a hug before gently taking up the sleeping baby boy that laid in his car-seat and placing him into the bassinet
