To Be An Artist

To be an Artist,
You are born a blank canvas,
You may or may not have the talent,
But even if you do, alas,
You still won't go far,

You practice and practice,
From your lines to your strokes,
You sketch yourself first
From your heart to your veins
To your arteries to your mind,

You learn that your body is a language
Your movements are like a pencil
Where along with words,
they cut your mental bandage,
And you let it bleed through what you do,

Because the thing is:
To create works of art,
You must become a work of art;
A work of pure and passionate bliss.
