Rope

We'd have so much fun,
Stick ice cream cones to our foreheads.
Run around and be unicorns,
Think of each other when lying in bed.

We'd text each other,
All day, all night.
Sometimes they were love messages,
Sometimes they were fights.

Our lives were filled with ups and downs,
And we're still climbing up a hill.
But when I often think of you,
My heart with pleasure it fills.

We'd fall on the floor,
Laughing and crying.
Have deep conversations,
Dream of flying.

We'd whisper to each other,
Have our own inside jokes.
We'd fight for each other,
If one's being provoked.

I was happy for you,
You were happy for me.
We'd congratulate each other,
Continuously.

When saying goodbye,
We'd forget about our fights,
'Cause it's an invisible rope,
That keeps us tight.

Some day the rope will break,
But for now we're holding strong.
We may not know it now, but for sure,
This is where we belong.
