Why do I do this to myself, you thought as you got that same box labeled 'Overwatch' out of your closet.
There it all was, all the memories. Your old pistol, communicator, and a couple of pictures. One of the Halloween party, one of Winston's acceptation into Overwatch, and one of you and Lena. Lena
* <------ayy lmao this signifies a flashback k? sorry ill fix this fourth wall
You were quite nervous when you first joined Overwatch, but a certain time-traveling agent may have changed that.
"Alright, welcome to Overwatch kid, room B34" said the great Jack Morrison as he handed you a box of the essentials, uniform, room key, gun, all that good stuff.
"Thank you sir, uhh where is room-"
"Oxton, I know your out there listening, show the new recruit his room." Morrison yelled out of his office.
A blue flash, and suddenly possibly the most beautiful person you'd ever seen was right in your face. Her hair, ear piercings, everything, it was all perfect..
"Uhh, Private (L/N), i'll be showing ya your room!" she said in the most beautiful voice.
"O-oh yea, sorry. Lead the way" you said, very nervously.
"It's alright, ere, follow me."
"Don't do anything to scare the kid Lena!" yelled Morrison.
"Relax, you know me!" she responded, exiting the office.
"I know, that's why I reminded you.." Morrison said quietly.
"Thanks again sir" you said leaving the office and following Lena.
"So, B34 huh? I'm right across from ya! Lena Oxton, or Tracer as they call me." she said walking backwards with her arm out for a handshake.
"(Y/N) (L/N), uhh im kinda.." you said motioning towards the box in your hands.
"O, sorry love... So I heard about your special powers, elemental stuff, maybe you can show me in the practice range! After you get settled in of course."
"Sure, hey watch out for Clint Eastwood behind you." you said, trying to get her to turn around before bumping into a very cliche cowboy behind her.
"Clint Eastwood?" she turned around and burst into laughter, "Oh, that's McCree love."
"New recruit huh?" said McCree, moving his hat out of his face.
"Yep, (Y/N), Jesse. Jesse (Y/N)"
"Nice to meet cha (Y/N), but it looks like you have some unpacking too do, see ya around."
"U-uh yea, see ya."
After a few minutes of walking, and meeting some other members, you arrived at your room.
"Ere she is, say (Y/N), ain't much daylight left. How about we forget about training till tomorrow."
"Y-yeah, it is kind of late."
"G-night then, see ya tomorrow."
"G-good night."
Your prior nervousness about Overwatch seemed to be gone, but replaced by a new fear of embarrassing yourself in front of Lena.
Soon after meeting you and Lena became the closest of friends, and two of Overwatch's most effective agents. Those were the best days of your life.
If only you could change back time.

Why do I continue doing this to myself? You were crying, again, you missed Lena so damn much. I should've told her, before it was too late. You felt yourself reaching for the pulse pistol.
No, not today, she's out there somewhere.
You put the pictures, pistol, and communicator back, but as you put the box away you heard a familiar continuous beep. The communicator. It was going off.
You practically ripped the box open. A call, from Watchpoint Gibraltar. You were meet with a familiar ape.
"Winston!"
"Hello (Y/N), are you uhh okay, you seem like you were crying."
"I u-uh, it's not relevant, human love. You wouldn't understand."
"Fair enough, we can talk later. At the Watchpoint."
"Wait why would we be at the Watchpoint."
"(Y/N), i'm recalling Overwatch." You were instantly filled with happiness, just the thought of seeing Lena again was enough to raise your spirits. "I'm sure you're aware of the risks, but-"
"I'll do it."
"That was easy enough, i'll send a dropship to you tomorrow. 10am sharp."
"Okay, talk to you later."
"Thank you (Y/N), other members were more hesitant. Goodbye."
"No, thank you." you said as you shut off the communicator.
