Hayley's POV
Butterflies invaded my stomach and my cheeks burned. He pulled me closer and caressed my cheeks. No, I'm not dreaming. Yes, Bruno Mars kissed me. It seemed like he didn't want to let go...so did I. We did it for what seemed like forever until...
"Hayley? Hello? Are you still there?" I heard Dale still on the phone. I totally forgot about him. We ignored his call and cherished the moment. "HAYLEY!" but he continued calling.
Annoyed, Peter let me go and grabbed the phone that had fallen on the sand. "Hello" he gritted.
"Who's this?" I heard Dale asked.
"Hayley doesn't want to go to Paris. She's having the time of her life here in California now"
"Who are you?!"
"Don't ask. You'd be surprised if I tell you. Toodles" he ended up.
Peter leaned away and drew back his attention to me. He looked at me with a grin then threw the phone back. I didn't know what to expect next. Will he kiss me more? Will he take it back? Will he ask me on a date again? Will he ask for my approval?
"What?" I gave up and smiled after a long moment of eye-contact.
"What?" he echoed while bitting his lips to hide his smile. And I don't know why but I find him sexy when he does that.
"What do you mean what?" I frowned but managed a giggle. "What was that?" I asked.
"Ah...I don't know" he looked away. "...but it felt like... heaven" he grinned and chuckled.
I threw him some sand and he jerked laughing.
"So is that a yes?" he smug.
"Shut up, Peter" I chuckled.
"For the last time, it's Bruno" he rolled his eyes in exaspiration. You see he keeps on reminding me to call him Bruno instead of Peter. What's the difference?
"Okay! Bruno!" I corrected myself. "Well, wait until I get twenty-six"
He was enlightened. And he looked at me with glowing eyes. "You're kidding, right?"
"Um...yes. I'm kidding. See, I'm laughing" I mimicked his voice.
"C'mon, Hayley. Are you serious?" he begged.
"Yes! When I turn twenty-six!"
"Why twenty-six? Why would you wait for your twenty-sixth year? Are your parents that strict?"
"No. It's my personal decision. Because I believe that girls only get their full maturity when they finally reach the age of twenty-six. And I don't want to decide now 'cause I'm still twenty-five" I explained. "...I don't want to make wrong decisions again like I did before... don't want to make the same mistake" I dropped my eyes.
"O...kaaaay" Bruno said slowly in uncertainty. "When will you turn twenty-six?" he then asked.
"Eighth of October" I somehow managed to smile. He looked at me with wide eyes and mouth. "What?" I frowned in confusion.
"Same day I'll turn twenty-six" he smiled excitedly.
"Maybe that's why I don't like you" I joked.
He rolled his eyes. "Don't deny. You like me Hayley Kirsten Jackson"
"You thick face" I muttered.
"If you reject me on October 8, I'll ruin your party... I'm not kidding" he said in a dead serious tone.
