Bruno's POV
Hayley looked really surprised to see Dale. Her eyes started to look teary but she swallowed and asked the doctor again, "What happened to my daughter?"
"I'm sad to say that Macky's leukemia is on stage four now" the doctor announced.
I looked at Hayley in half panic. I saw her almost fell to her knees. "Wha-wha-what?!" she tried to speak. "Leukemia? Stage... four?" she repeated then started laughing like crazy. "Macky has leukemia?! Since when?!" and then her voice became stern.
"Ma'am, you don't know?" the doctor asked.
"NO!!!" she roared and the doctor got surprised.
"Hayley, calm down" I held her shoulders.
"Bruno, Macky has leukemia and I didn't know!" she shouted.
"Hayley, calm down now" Dale said glaring at his Mom who was looking down on the floor now wearing a cold face.
"I'm sorry. Excuse me" the doctor said and left.
"Why didn't you tell me she has that?!" she gritted glaring at Dale's Mom.
Dale's Mom didn't answer but just raised one eyebrow and folded her arms across her chest.
"I'm really sorry, Hayley" Dale grabbed her hand.
"No!" she jerked her hand away. "I can't believe you didn't tell me Macky has leukemia! What kind of demons are you?!" she exclaimed furiously.
"Kirsten, what is going on here?" Mrs. Jackson appeared with her husband.
"I'll tell you what's going on! MY DAUGHTER IS ALREADY DYING AND NO ONE EVEN CARED TO LET ME KNOW THAT!"
"Hayley Kirsten, could you lower your voice!" Mr. Jackson said sternly. "What are you talking about?"
"What?! You don't know either?! Well guess what, Macky has stage four leukemia! These people didn't tell me my daughter is sick big time!" she gestured at Dale and his mother. Then Hayley started crying angry tears. She turned her head to Dale's mother. "When do you plan to tell me this, huh?! When she's already dead?!" she clenched. "My Macky's dying and I didn't even had the chance to live with her. And that is because of you! You think I'm a crap that I can't raise my own child?!"
"Hayley, I'm sorry" Dale took her hand again.
"Don't touch me!" she shouted. "I hate you!" she pushed him away then started shouting on his face, "You took everything away from me! You took me! You took away Macky from me! You left me! You dumped me for some bitch! And now you're back just when our child is dying!!! Ahh!" Everyone of us stayed frozen us she gave her words. "I HATE ALL OF YOU! YOU MADE MY LIFE FEEL LIKE CRAP!" were her last words.
Dale abruptly grabbed her by the wrist. "Hayley, I swear I'm sorry" then he brushed his fingers through her cheek wiping her tears.
That was when I felt the adrenaline to pull Hayley away from him. "Come on, Hayley" I said and wrapped my arm around her waist. "Let's take a walk for awhile." Dale was glaring at me as I walked her away.
I got in the car and handed Hayley the coffee I just bought for her. "Here" I said but she didn't turn her head to look at me. She was staring vacantly at her window with tears automatically streaming down her face. My heart fell to my stomach in sadness as I saw her more horrible than before when I first met her. "Hayley?" I called in the sweetest voice.
"Why is my life this miserable?" she asked.
"You think your life is miserable when you have me?" I grinned to cheer her up.
