❝If I told you my secrets, you'd never look at me the same again

The next morning Elliot woke up in an unfamiliar bed and with a splitting headache. He had no idea how he had arrived there and what had happened last night after he had left Desiree. What was she doing at that moment?

Elliot felt someone shifting next to him on the bed and when he saw the messed blonde hair of the naked girl laying next to him the events of the night came crushing down on him. He immediately got up from the bed and dressed in his clothes that were scattered all over the floor. He had promised himself that he would try to change, but he had failed, he was still the same guy.

He managed to get out of the blonde's house without making any noise and made his way towards the nearest bus stop so he could go back to his house where his dad and step mother were probably waiting for him.

After five minutes of waiting, the bus arrived and luckily it was almost empty, he wasn't in the mood for people, infact all he wanted was to lock himself in his room and sleep.

After he had payed for his ticket and sat down in one of the many empty seats he looked to the opposite row of seats where a girl was reading a book with headphones in her ears.

He moved a little closer to see her face more clearly because something about her intrigued him, maybe it was the fact that she looked so peaceful, or the way a strand of hair was infront of her face and she didn't make a move to remove it.

The girl felt that someone was looking at her so she paused the song that she was listening to and lifted her eyes from the book, folding the corner to remember where she was.

Her eyes met with the most beautiful emerald eyes that she had started to grow to love, although they weren't full with life and excitement like they had been the day before, this time they were full with sadness and they also looked a little darker.

''Elliot?'' She asked the guy who was still looking at her from the opposite row.

''Desiree?'' He said her name with disbelief as if she wasn't really there but she was just a trick of his hangover, so he got up from his seat and went to sit next to her. He took her small hand in his to make sure that she really was there and smiled when he knew that it wasn't his imagination.

''Are you okay Elliot?'' Desiree asked him.

''Yeah, I'm perfectly fine, why wouldn't I be?'' He told her as he smiled at her.

''I don't know, it's just that you are in the same outfit from yesterday and you smell of alcohol and no offense but you look like hell!'' She told him with concern in her eyes as she slowly lifted her free hand to move back his messy curly hair from his forehead as he watched her every move with careful eyes.

''I just went to a little party with my friends, that's all.'' He told her as she trailed her hand along the side of his face and then rested it back down on her lap, he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, he liked her touch, but only her touch.

''I see, well I have to go now because we almost arrived at my stop.'' She told him as she started to get up from her seat, but he held her down.

''I'm sorry for the way I reacted yesterday, I promise you I wouldn't act like that again, it was just that Noah reminded me of someone I know, I don't want to lose you because of the way I acted!'' He told her in a hurry.

''It's fine Elliot, I forgive you'' She told him with a kind smile. She couldn't help but think that there was something different with him that day, he seemed...fragile or broken was the best word to describe him.

She looked out of the bus window and saw that they had already skipped her stop, maybe it was a sign that she shouldn't leave him alone at that moment.

''Elliot, if you are not busy I would like to take you somewhere.'' She told him with as she settled back down in her chair.

His eyes immediately looked a little more alive and his crooked smile had returned on his face, he looked more like the guy that she had hung out with yesterday.

''I'm not busy Desiree, we have all the time in the world!'' He told her with a smile.

''Good, I wouldn't mind spending an eternity with you.'' She hadn't realized what she had said out loud until she saw the surprise on his face, she couldn't help but blush and look away from him.

It was probably the nicest thing that someone had ever said to Elliot, he had never been used to compliments or people caring for him. That's why he had gotten used to use people and then leave them without saying another word, like that blonde girl for example. But with Desiree everything was different, she made him feel something that he didn't know that he would be ever capable of feeling.

''Oh, look this is our stop!'' She exclaimed after a few moment of silence as she recognized the street and they made their way together out of the bus after she had thanked the driver.

Elliot couldn't feel help but feel excited about whatever Desiree was going to show him, the spark in her dark brown eyes and the way that she was grinning told him that it was going to be worth it. His dad and step mother could keep on waiting, he didn't care as long as he had her by his side.
