Chapter 21

Annabeth's POV

Zeus actually didn't go much furthur into the incident.

Probably because Ares didn't do much good lately and Percy apologized. Genuinely.

Clarissie glared at Percy from a distance now.

That was all good, if not for Percy's.... problems.

"Good morning."

I yawned, nodding. Percy sat next to me like always.

"What's Grover doing lately?" Katie asked.

He shrugged. "I don't know much about what the satyrs are up to. I don't think anyone knows."

"They are kind of like a separate group. Our boss funds them." I agreed.

"The lilies started blooming today, I thought he might like to see them."

"Must be pretty." Percy said, stirring his scrambled eggs.

"Seaweed Brain, food is to eat. Not to stir."

He pushed some bacon towards me. "Want some?"

"No, we have check ups next week. I don't want to talk to Apollo about my weight."

"Oh yeah. Check ups."

"You really need to eat some more." Katie chided. "How do you even pass every time?"

He shrugged, taking a bite of his food. He had lost a lot of weight after Luke left, but he had been that state when I had met him two months ago.

"You know it's been 2 months since we met?"

"Really." He mused. "It feels like longer."

"Probably because there were so many..." I sighed. "Yeah, it does feel longer."

He stood up. "I'll go first."

"You're not eating all of that?"

"Yeah."

"Give it." Katie scraped the bacon onto her plate. "You barely touched it!"

He shrugged, slipping away slowly so I wouldn't notice.

"Hey."

"Yes?"

"Do you have any classes with me today?"

He nodded. "Second. Poisons, I think?"

"Okay. See ya."

He went away, obviously relieved. Katie frowned.

"He's going to pass out someday eating like that."

"Go easy on him. He's probably full by taking all those pills."

"Again?"

"It started all over again after Luke..." I muttered. "I swear to the gods-"

"Calm down Wise Girl."

I glowered at Katie. "I will call you Kit Cat."

She flushed red. "Okay, I'm sorry. But really, you should ask Apollo about him or something."

"Yeah, I will after check ups. Gods I hate check ups. I have to take care of the newbies." I groaned.

"Same with me. Atleast Athena kids are smart. Some Demeter kids..." Katie shuddered. "Plants. They're just plants."

I scraped down the rest of my breakfast and left to get ready for my first class. I had hand to hand combat.. There was equipment there, so I just grabbed my water bottle and went down.
