Annabeth's POV

I woke up in a clean white room.

I was bound, a gag in my mouth. My whole body was stiff. I was probably knocked out for a while.

Luke walked into the room.

At first, I was stunned by his beauty. And then offended by it.

How dare he look so pretty after betraying me.

He pulled the gag off of me gently.

"Luke."

I tried to spit it out, but it was way too watery. Whether he was good looking or not, he was family. And that was important to me.

He sighed. "You've got to do what I say, Annie."

"Why did you leave? Why... you could of told me. You..."

Tears started rolling out of my eyes. Gods, I wasn't going to cry.

"You would tell everything to your mother."

"No I would not!" I sobbed.

"Yes you would. You cannot defy your mother."

Deep down, I knew it was true. I would of told my mom and try to stop him.

"What do you want me to do." I said, biting back my tears.

"Join me. Annabeth, we can rule the world. The gods will no longer be more powerful than us."

"You don't have to listen to your mom."

"No."

He sighed. "Please. Percy's waiting at home."

My body stiffened. "What did you do to him." I snarled.

"... it looks like you care about him too much." His face hardened. "Well Annabeth, we don't really have to do much for him to lose his mind. He'll kill himself soon."

"Luke, let me go."

"Isn't that good for you."

"No, it's not!"

"You love listening to your mother."

"Luke, please! I can't let him die like that."

He stared at me coldly.

"You were always too emotional for an Athena kid." He sighed. "You have to kill him someday."

I closed my eyes tight.

Something else.

"... is it true you're working for Kronos."

"Yes. He's better than the gods."

"My gods.... have you even though of what Thalia would say?"

"Thalia would join me."

"... Luke."

"She would. Annabeth, you're the only one left."

"Family. We promised."

"You're crazy."

His face turned bitter. "Please think about it again Annabeth."

"No, I won't."

The door opened and two giants came in. They were taller and hairier than the average human.

"I know you will. You're good at thinking." He stood up on his own chair.

I hesitated.

"Luke."
