A Little Something

We are all just a little scared, aren't we?

To not belong in their circle,

To color outside the box,

To be just a little too huge for this world,

To stand in the midst of an equinox

We are all just a little different, don't you agree?

Like a puzzle piece that sticks out,

Or a mind that's brimming with doubt,

The language we say – they don't quite understand,

Still we choose to whisper than to shout

We are all just a little lonely, don't you think?

We cry with everything in us but tears,

We think we get stronger through the years,

But with only a single blow, we're knocked out of breath,

And the air we inhale is full of fears

We are all just a little selfish, don't you say?

We tend to want things we cannot get,

We want to be remembered but we forget,

We lust for the future that's ahead of us,

Though we can't move on from the past just yet

We are all just a little stupid, don't you believe?

Been making the same mistakes we did before,

Been acting like a hopeless fool once more,

But the faults that we're making, the mess that we made,

It's what makes life worth living for
