When I say let go, what I mean is to break down your walls. Take them down at any rate, as long as you keep going. The barriers you've put up for your heart may provide security, but they will limit your capabilities. And the things you once thought would protect you will eventually turn into fears. Fear of rejection and fear of making mistakes keep you from growing, and we should never let that happen for when I say let go, I say let grow. We're all afraid of growth – of change – and yet every day, it's what we do. We change, but we still stay the same either. The surface of any water could change its form – it ripples, it freezes, it flows, but the very essence remains as it is.
And when I say let go, what I mean is be happy, but we all know that happiness drags along with it the lurking shadow of pain. For what becomes of a flower when there's always sunshine, but no hint of rain? It's okay to hurt and it's still okay to shield yourself from it, but when you shield yourself from pain, don't shield yourself from love. For when I say let go, I also say love unconditionally. You should love because you feel it; you should love because you deserve to be loved in return. There are too many things in this world that are being chopped down just to fit in the twisted standards of society; love shouldn't be one of them. Love shouldn't be restrained just like you and the wondrous things you can do for yourself and for the world. For when I say let go, I also say be free.
