Erelil's POV

I could hear the fight going on between the dwarves and Smaug. I couldn't handle it and went to the front gate to look at Lake Town. Suddenly I heard them in the throne room and Smaug flying this way. I watch him break the barricade below before flying towards Lake Town. "I am fire, I am death" he says as someone appears beside me with others following them.

"What have we done?" the person beside me asks.

"You have all just sentence the people of Lake Town to death" I state. "I gave up everything to protect those people and now they are going to die. Because of all of you" I explain.

"Is there nothing that can be done?" the same person asks.

"Nothing except pray" I tell him and then begin to sing as Smaug reached Lake Town.

"Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sonIf this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night
Calling out for the rope, sent by and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on the mountain side heyAnd if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
Calling out for the rope
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn on and on the mountain side
Desolation comes upon the skyNow I see fire, inside the mountain
I see fire, burning the trees
And I see fire, hollowing souls
And I see fire, blood in the breeze
And I hope that you'll remember meOh, should my people fall
Then surely I'll do the same
Confined in mountain halls
We got too close to the flame
Calling out father hold fast and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on the mountain side
Desolation comes upon the skyNow I see fire, inside the mountain
I see fire, burning the trees
And I see fire, hollowing souls
And I see fire, blood in the breeze
And I hope that you'll remember meAnd if the night is burning
I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns then
My brothers will die
And as the sky's falling down
It crashed into this lonely town
And with that shadow upon the ground
I hear my people screaming outNow I see fire, inside the mountain
I see fire, burning the trees
And I see fire, hollowing souls
And I see fire, blood in the breezeI see fire, oh you know I saw a city burning (fire) [Dwarves join in]
And I see fire, feel the heat upon my skin (fire)
And I see fire (fire)
And I see fire (burn on and on and mountains side)" the dwarves and I finished singing. "May the Valar protect them" I say turning away. When a roar of pain was heard and I turned back to see Smaug falling. I focused my vision on his chest to see a black arrow has hit its mark.

"He's dead, I saw it" the person beside me states.

"I'm finally free, but at the cost of many lives" I say. "Thank you all for your help and what's your name?" I ask the person beside me.

"Bilbo Baggins at your service princess" he says bowing.

"I'm not a princess yet, but I will be when I finally return home" I tell him smiling.

"Feel free to stay a few days Lassie, it's a long way back to Rivendell on foot" Balin tells me.

"I think I will rest for a couple of days, but I don't want to stay long. I've missed my family and am finally able to go back home" I say smiling. "But I'll go to Lake Town first to see if I can help with the injured before leaving" I state. "Goodnight master dwarves and master Baggins" I say curtsying before heading to my room.

When I got there and shut the door behind me, I walked over to my bed. I sat on it as I pulled the Arkenstone out, no doubt the dwarves are searching for it now. But I have heard of the dragon sickness and know this will only make it worse. There was a knock at my door and I called "come in" after hiding the stone. "Mister Baggins, how may I help you?" I ask as he shouts the door behind him.

"I saw you take the stone, may I have it?" he asks.

"Only if you promise not to give it to Thorin, it'll only make his sickness worse" I tell him.

"I promise" he assures me and I hand it over. He hides it in one of his many pockets thanking me before leaving. I change into my white nightgown before curling up on the small bed. I fell into a peaceful sleep dreaming of my reunion with my family.
