When I woke up, Sherlock wasn't in bed with me. Confused, I got out of bed and quickly got dressed before leaving his room. I found everyone in the living room gathered around Sherlock's computer. Everyone minus Mikah and plus George. I also found that breakfast had already been made. "What are you guys doing?" I asked as I picked up a sausage and bacon toasted sandwich.
"We have something to discuss about your case" Sherlock stated.
"Did you find something else?" I questioned as I sat beside him.
"Yes or more accurately George found something for me. He downloaded the security camera's footage on the days you had rehearsal. This is from when the stage lights fell down" He played the footage and a man with a black mask and gloves on who was extremely tall was standing backstage near the rope that held the stage lights up. Then suddenly the footage cuts off. "That man has to be the one trying to kill you. The rope was cut in a high place which corresponds perfectly to that man's height" He then opened a document with various screenshots pasted into it. "A strange thing we noticed when we previously watched the footage was that these two men have been present every time you have rehearsal. They change where they're standing each time but they can still watch you wherever they choose to stand" My eyes widened as I focused on the two men.(No way it can't be...Moran and Stillman...?!)
"Those two..." I muttered quietly.
"Do you know them?" George asked.
"The dark brunette is Moran and the pale brunette is Stillman..."
"They were the men with James Moriarty?" I nodded to Sherlock's question.
"But why watch her rehearsals? They don't gain anything from doing that" John asked looking confused.
"I suspect they only watch on behalf of James Moriarty"
"Sherlock has a point, you did tell us he was a big fan of yours" John supported Sherlock's prediction.
"It'd be good if we could question them"
"For once I agree with Lestrade, when Elena is rehearsing today we'll split up and try to find them"
"What if they try to hurt Elena while we're looking for them?" John asked which made me shiver.
"Elena get Edgar to walk you to your dressing room, stay in there with the door locked until we contact you to tell you we're finished"
"Right, but please be careful guys"
"We'll be fine Elena, just worry about yourself" John reassured me. We all finished our toasted sandwiches and left for the theatre. The three left when I reached the stage.(Good luck guys)
I took a deep breath and focused my attention on rehearsal.
TIMESKIP-4 hours later
Rehearsal finished and I called out to Edgar. "What's up Elena?"
"Would you mind walking me to my dressing room?"
"No problem" As we walked we conversed.
"So Edgar, what do you think you'll do after this play?"
"I'm not sure, I think I'll continue working with the Director. I really like the plays he comes up with"
"What?"
"Didn't you know? The Director also came up with the storyline and oversaw the writing of the scripts"
"Wow, I never knew he was so talented! I'm sure you'll enjoy working with him and who knows? Maybe you'll become famous in the process"
"That would be nice" We both laughed and continued talking until we reached my dressing room. "Well I'll see you tomorrow Elena"
"Bye Edgar and thank you!"
"You're welcome" He left and I entered my dressing room, locking the door after I had done so. I sat on my leopard print armchair in front of my dressing table and took my phone out of my handbag.(I don't want to wait here but I'll only cause trouble if I leave and get myself hurt)
I thought to myself as I stared at my phone. "Wow you are a really lovesick puppy" My eyes widened as I recognised the masculine voice.
(No no no no no, this can't be happening!)
I looked up and saw his reflection in my dressing table mirror. I turned around in my chair and there he stood. "No...you're not supposed to be here..."
"Aww, did I ruin the detective's great plan?" He sneered before taking a step towards me. Fear filled me as I jumped out of the armchair and towards the sliding door closet. "The fear in your eyes elates me, too bad I can't rip you" I tried to run around him but he caught me and brought me into his chest with an arm wrapped around my waist tightly.
"Let me go!"
"You're lucky James likes you so much or we would have already carried out this client's request" He suddenly covered my mouth and nose with a cloth.
"Mmmm!" I quickly dialled Sherlock's number in hopes that he would hear what was happening.
"Smart woman but he won't get here in time" His grip around my waist tightened causing me to drop my phone as I tried to move his arm. He kicked my phone away.
"Mmmhm!!!!" Tears came to my eyes as I struggled to get out of his grip. My vision began to darken and I tried removing the gloved hand suffocating me but I didn't have the strength to do so.(Sherlock...help...)
"Mmm..." I lost all my strength and my consciousness faded.
Backtracking with Sherlock...
Sherlock had looked throughout the seating area of the theatre.
(Where are those two?)
He made his way to Elena's dressing room. On the way there Moran blocked his path. "Finally showing yourself, where's your partner?"
"That is none of your business. Why are you looking for us?"
"To question you. Why have you watched every one of Elena's rehearsals?"
"James is too busy to come down here himself so he sends us here to watch in his stead but you already knew that"
"And how would you know that I did?"
"James told me how perceptive you are but we're pretty perceptive too" Sherlock's eyes widened as he caught on to Moran's meaning.
"Where's Stillman?"
"I already said that is none of your business. At least for now"
"I'm going to see Elena-"
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that" Moran pulled out a gun and pointed it at Sherlock. "She has prior arrangements"
"With who?" Moran didn't answer. Suddenly Sherlock's phone rang. He saw it was Elena calling him. "Elena is something the matter?" There was no answer just the sound of clothes rustling. "Elena?"
"Smart woman but he won't get here in time" A voice I didn't recognise stated before I heard Elena's cry of pain but for some reason it was muffled. There was then a loud crash, she had dropped her phone.
"Elena!!!" It suddenly went silent. The sounds of Elena's muffled screams had stopped. "Was that Stillman?! What'd he do to Elena?!"
"Sherlock!" Sherlock turned to see John and Lestrade running towards him. He turned back to find Moran had disappeared.
"Was that Moran?" George asked but Sherlock ran off without replying. "Sherlock wait!" The other two men ran after him. Sherlock arrived at Elena's dressing room door. John and Lestrade panted as they caught up with Sherlock. "What's with the running?" Sherlock turned the doorknob and it opened.
"Wasn't she supposed to lock the door?" John questioned. They entered the room to find it empty. "She's gone?!"
"Why didn't she lock the door?"
"She did Lestrade, she wouldn't forget to do something so vital. Stillman must have been hiding in her dressing room, waiting for her to come which explains why none of us saw him" They spread throughout the room to look for clues. Lestrade found Elena's phone and handed it to Sherlock.
"She has a new message from the unknown number" Sherlock opened the message and read it aloud;
"A new game has begun"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I think it has something to do with this" John joined the conversation holding an envelope. "It was on her dressing table underneath the makeup bag" Sherlock opened the envelope and scanned its contents.Hey Sherlock,
I'm done trying to kill Elena, I realised that was just letting her off easy. Now I want to make her suffer as much as possible so she'll finally pay for what she did to her. I like a good game so let's see if you can figure out where I took her from this riddle; 'Feed me and I live but give me water and I die, what am I?' Good luck"Well, what does it say?" George asked trying to get a look at the letter. Sherlock handed the letter to John and let them read it while he pondered over the riddle.
"Feed me and I live but give me water and I die, what am I?" John read the riddle out loud.
"Everything needs water to survive, that doesn't make any sense"
"Wait a minute, say that again"
"Everything needs water to survive, that doesn't make any sense?"
"That's it Lestrade! One would commonly think of a living being as the riddle said 'feed me' but that's not the case!"
"I think I get what you're saying, the riddle isn't referring to something living"
"Exactly John! Only one thing 'dies' when it is given water and that is fire!"
"But you don't feed a fire"
"Lestrade shut up! Your intelligence is an insult to all men"
"What?!"
"So she's somewhere where there's fire?"
"Yes John but where?" Suddenly sirens from outside caught the three men's attention. They ran to the window to see fire trucks driving past.
"My guess is wherever those trucks are going"
"We all got that George, let's go" The three men ran out the theatre and followed the fire engines.DISCLAIMER:Some lines or scenes MAY have been taken and adapted from the games. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ALL CHAPTERS!!!
