Mr. Baines walked to my room after I escaped from my encounter with the Headmistress. She was daunting to talk to and made me feel nervous to be around.

Mr. Baines was waiting on the other side of the door and walked to the East wing where the girl's dorms were on the third floor. He says that the cafeteria was on the first floor along with the assembly room, and training grounds. He said that all classes were on the second floor, the third floor was the library and held the girl's dorms. The fourth floor was the infirmary and the boy's dorms, and as for the fifth, Mr. Baines didn't tell me what that was except that was where the Headmistress' quarters were. I guessed this is where the other teachers lived as well.

I was only wearing a robe as we descended down the stairs to the third floor to meet my new roommate, and the same black satin slippers. My hair was a mess no doubt, and my face probably looked sunken and disgusting from not being washed in awhile, I felt grimy and gross and I just wanted a hot steamy shower.

There were few students out in the halls, Mr. Baines said that most were in the common rooms after classes or in the library. The students that I did see stared at me pointedly, they were all probably wondering and whispering about the new girl. The freak in a scarlet bath robe. I felt very self-conscious and missed the comfort of my baggy jeans and hoodie.

The East wing of the girls dormitory was divided into four sections, based on grade. I was in Junior year so I was in the far left of the common room. As soon as we reached the common room, everyone in it placed their wandering eyes on me. They all stared at the new girl without a word, analyzing my attire and dishevelled appearance along with Mr. Baines who seemed just to be uncomfortable being in the girl's dorms.

The common room itself was beautiful. White leather couches, televisions, desks, and a giant roaring fireplace. A shining crystal chandelier hung in the centre, making the room seem as if it were sparkling. Girls were crowded in their friend groups on couches, talking and laughing together as if they were normal human girls. When Mr. Baines and I entered the room, the laughing ceased and he cleared his throat uncomfortably.

"Girls, this is our new student at Thornhill. Please give a warm welcome to Aspen Iverson" He announces, forcing everyone to turn to me.

I Just stood there and awkwardly waved without saying anything, seeing the skeptical and judgement look on other girl's faces.

"Let me show you to your room Aspen" Mr. Baines tears my gaze away from the floor as he takes me down another narrow hallway. We arrive at the very end before a white door, he took a key out of his jacket's pocket and unlocked the door swiftly before handing it to me.
