Lucas and I sat in silence while I played with my fingers. "Alexis, you okay?" He asked me. "Yeah, I'm just a little nervous." I admitted. "Why? You on birth control, remember?" He said sarcastically. "Shut up." I laughed. He always knew how to make me smile at the worst moments. "I want her to hurry up. We been waiting for 5 minutes now. I'm anxious and hungry." He said. "Calm down, but she do need to hurry up tho." I said. Soon after our conversation she walked with a small grin. "Well, you have a little one on the way." She said excitedly. I opened my mouth but couldn't form any words. I was speechless, at a loss of words. "How? I'm on birth control." I asked. "Sometimes, it's just meant to happen." She answered. "I told you." Lucas said with a smile. He got up out of the chair he was in and hugged me. I laughed and looked down. I sighed with relief. At least I know now.
