**| Luke's POV |**

Victor instructed Owen to pull to the side of the road, stopping at the entrance to a dirt road.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"He stopped moving," Victor said. "He's just up this road. I think we are here."

"Luke, you're scout," Owen said as Kota passed out the ear mics so we could talk to each other.

I put the thing into my ear and turned everything on.

"The ninja is a go," I said, testing it out.

I heard some chuckles over it and knew everyone else in the second SUV were wearing them too.

Owen frowned but I just grinned and hopped out of the car. I kept my feet light, letting years of my sneaky ninja training take over.

"Go ahead and report back," Owen said. "Do not engage in anyway. We just want eyes."

"Got it," I said. This wasn't my first time doing this. I knew all the rules of this game. I was champion of this game. And while for once, I had a lot to lose in this round, I was determined to win.

I would not lose North over this. That wasn't an option.

The dirt path continued on.

"His car should be coming up soon," Victor said into my ear.

I rounded a bend, keeping an eye out for cameras or traps. I wouldn't be surprise if I managed to step into a bear trap.

Maybe there could be trip wires. I lost myself for a second as I imagined myself executing a perfect flip over a trip wire only to roll underneath another one and then hopping over another. No trip wires were going to get me. Not tonight.

When the bend straightened up, I spotted the car. No house though.

"Found the car," I reported. "But no house."

Excitement washed over me at possibilities.

"Oh! Do you think it's an underground bunker? That would be so awesome!"

"Focus," North barked, his patience no longer in existence. I wouldn't be surprised if Silas had to sit on him to keep him from storming the area. Maybe Nathan was there to help too.

"Is there a footpath?" Victor asked.

"Yes sir," I said, spotting it quickly once I walked around the car. "Heading into dark creepy forest."

No one said anything, probably too busy rolling their eyes. I didn't care. I would do anything to keep the stress down for everyone, even if that meant giving them a stupid play by play of what's going on.

The path really was creepy, and darker. The canopy of all the trees blocked out what little moonlight was available. I didn't bother with a flashlight since that would just light me up and ninjas were never seen. Not until it was already too late.

I followed the path carefully, being sure to avoid branches or rocks. Tripping would be embarrassing and Gabe would never let me live that down.

"Anything?" North asked.

"Still walking," I replied.

Finally the path ended at a tree line that opened up into a big field with a massive cabin in the middle, surrounded by grass. There was a small path made of worn out grass from being walked on often and it led right up to the front porch.

The moonlight lit the house up in it's own little spotlight and even without the sunlight, I could see how impressive the house was. In the daytime, I bet this place was breathless. And to think I had to walk through creepy woods on a rocky footpath to find it.
