"I thought you were gone forever" I said shaking with fear
"She's shaking, she's scared" dad said
"Shh, it's okay" Jackie said calmly
Jamie comes in
"You okay?" He asked me
"I am now" I said "thanks to dad and Jackie"
"Here" Jamie said giving me something "your uncle Joe wants you to have these"
He gives me Joe's shield and jacket
"I can't have these" I said
"Yes you can, he said 'if I die before I get home, give my jacket and shield to Amy and tell her I'll always be by her side in spirit' and that's exactly what I'm doing" Jamie told me
"Thank you" I said "I knew that Uncle Joe was there with me in spirit"
"I'll stay here with her Danny" Jamie said
"No, I will" dad said
"To be honest dad, I love Jamie more" I said
"I'm your father, not him" dad said
"Danny, I'll stay with her" Jamie repeated himself
"Fine" dad said walking out
"Wanna put the jacket on?" Jamie asked me
"Yes" I responded
Jamie put the jacket on me and I was able to get out of the hospital to have lunch with my grandpa in his office
"Wow, look at you" Frank said as I walked into his office
"Uncle Joe wanted me to have these apparently" I said
"He did" he replied
"Look, I even got his shield and belt with his stuff on it" I replied showing Frank the belt "well, except the taser and gun but the rest I got"
"We can't have you getting expelled from school having a gun and taser on that belt" he replied
"but I can have cuffs?" I asked
"no, give those" he replied
"but" I said
"no buts" he said
"fine" I gave them to him
"Thank you" he replied "who brought you here?"
"Uncle Jamie did" I replied
"That is like your uncle to do that" Frank said
"Yeah, it is" I replied
Night one in the hospital was rough for me because I had bad dreams
"Dad!" I yelled suddenly waking up in the middle of the night
"Hey, your okay" Jamie said calmly
"I" I said crying "I didn't mean to wake you Uncle Jamie"
"I was already awake" Jamie replied
"I'm scared" I said
"Shh, its okay" Jamie said "I'm here"
"I-I can't sleep" I said
"I'm right here, and so is your Uncle Joe, he's here in spirit" Jamie replied getting a call "Officer Reagan, what? Oh no, I have to protect my neice, thank you, okay, bye"
"What's going on" I asked
"Stay here" Jamie replied walking out with his hand on his gun "get the Commissioner on the line"
