I walked into the kitchen to see my uncle sitting at the bar. "Oh hey uncle J." I mumbled as he shook his head. "A party? Wait no two parties. And sleeping at a guy's house? Are you out of your flippin' mind?" I sighed as I leaned against the counter. "Im your guardian and when I hear from my boss that his son threw a party that my niece showed up to is real reassuring. Especially when he tells me that she was supposed to spend the night with her so called boyfriend that I didn't even know she had. Then went to another party the next night." He said yelling as I swallowed my pride and looked at the ground. "Look at me Jacer. I have done nothing but try with you and Jordan but I can't take it anymore. You pull another stunt like this and your gone. California this time and it won't just be for a week or two. Permanently." He said as my head shot up. "No way. You never would have did this if-." I stopped but he glared at me. "No because I wouldn't be here if your mom was still alive or if your dad was. But they aren't here and I made a promise to them that I would take care of you and do what is best for you. If I can't control you i will send you to someone who can." "But uncle Jesse is a drill sergeant. He would murder me with his demands and 'tight ship' or whatever the heck he calls it. No im not going. You can't make me go." I said crossing my arms as he sighed and nodded. "I can and i will if you keep this act up." He practically yelled as I turned to see Jordan and Slade with their heads hanging low like they had just been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. "Happy now?" I asked Jordan, Uncle J, and Slade at the same time before yanking my phone off the counter and dashing out the door. I immediately heard Slade and Jordan's pounding footsteps. One was probably going out the back to cut me off while one headed this way. I ran up the driveway and looked over my shoulder to see Slade jogging and yelling my name. I rounded a turn and ducked into the woods and got as still as possible knowing there were trails and turns off that road so he had no way of knowing where exactly I went. I waited till he passed and counted to a hundred before scurrying to a trail behind me and walking down that.

He couldn't send me away. I haven't really done anything wrong. I didn't even spend the night at the guy's house. I didn't even stay at the parties but maybe four hours. Uncle J was a pain in my behind. He was such a party person before he came to live with Jordan and I. He was all over the place. Worst than a few parties where I didn't even drink. Way worst. I was so aggravated and beyond frustrated. But an unfamiliar voice brought me out of my own mind. "Hey im kinda lost." A boy about my age said as I sighed and turned around. This guy was hot, not like Slade hot, but definitely hotter than Tyler and Marcus. "Uh you new around here?" I noticed a pair of Nike shoes on his feet, most people well all but maybe one or two wear cowboy boots and those one or two are the popular girls that wear wedges or heels. "Yeah how'd you tell?" He smirked as I chuckled and pointed at his shoes. "The Nike shoes. Everyone around here wears boots." I said showing off my own brown and worn cowgirl boots. "Ah. Well I better go get me some then. Im Trent by the way." "Jacer but I get called Jace, JT, Jacey, Jacer, or even Jacer Marie. Whatever you want." I muttered as he shrugged. "Jace is cute. I just moved over on Pickett close to Rockwell and I got kinda lost. I went for a run." I laughed and sighed. "Well I live on Rockwell and your actually on Pitch right now so I can bring you there." I said as he nodded. "I could bring you the back way to show you it so you don't get lost anymore." I smiled as he nodded. "Give me your number too in case i get lost again." He mumbled as I began walking along by him. "I just met you, how do I know you aren't some serial killer psychopath or pervert?" I said as he chuckled. "Well my name is Trenton Michael Weatherly Jr. I am sixteen. My mom died when I was six, my dad's name is Trenton Michael Weatherly Sr. I don't have siblings. I moved here about two days ago. I run track and football. I used to live in Texas, Idaho, Montana, and I recently came from Alabama." He said smiling as I laughed at him and nodded. "Okay give me your phone." I said as I handed him mine. We put in our phone numbers and kept walking as we talked and laughed. "We should run together, you run everyday?" He asked as I shrugged. "Haven't lately but I need to. Sure I would love to." i said as he smiled. "I'll text you and run to your house so we could round around to run the trails." He said as I nodded. "So tell me about you miss Jace." I chuckled before shrugging a shoulder and leading him on a trail that heads to my house. "Well im Jacer I am 16. But I will be 17 in a month. I have an older brother Jordan and our oldest brother Jeremiah died about six years ago. My mom died a year after him and my dad died two years ago. My uncle J takes care of us now. Oh and im supposedly dating my brother's best friend Slade, he's a player." "Supposedly?" He asked as I brought him out by my house and showed him it before we walked down the my dirt road, Rockwell, heading to Pickett. I was glad he didn't ask about my parents or Jeremiah. Or say he was sorry. I wasn't ready to confront those long ago demons that have been put to rest. That's when Slade came running, all red faced and angry with a struggling Jordan in tow. "Long story." I said quickly as Slade glared my way. "Oh funny. Real funny." Slade said sarcastically as I smacked my lips and slowed as Trent raised an eyebrow. "Where in the loving world have you been?" "Busy." "That didn't answer my question." "Brother?" Trent asked as I shook my head. "And I don't care what it answered." I muttered as Jordan finally caught up and noticed Trent. "Who is this?" "Trent meet my brother, Jordan. Oh and Slade." I rolled my eyes as Slade glared at me again. "So pretty pampered princess where have you been? Out making out with him?" He asked as I glared. "You think I kiss or try to date any guy i meet. That just shows how low you think of me when you should be looking in the mirror because last time I checked you were the player not me." I said angrily as I walked away with Trent. "Nice meeting yall." He called out as I sighed. "Sorry he just infuriates me." I mumbled as my phone rang with Ace's ringtone. "Hello?" "Hey." "Hey Ace." I kinda sighed as Trent smirked. "How are things goin' with lover boy?"  "Slade?" I asked as he laughed. "You got it Jacey." "Oh you know horrible. He brought me to that party, which I left at midnight. He just about killed me at five in the morning claiming I made him stay out all night looking for me. Then I went to that party with Zander to make him mad and he showed up and tried beating Zan up so I left that one and ran for hours because I was mad. So I get up this morning and what does uncle J tell me? That I have to go live with uncle Jesse if I don't get my act together. Basically told me im a wild party animal for going to two parties. And what would I do with the lieutenant, may you ask? Run and shoot and be worked to death literally. He would kill me." I exaggerated as Trent laughed and I rolled my eyes at him. "Wow. Well you can't move to California so don't do anything else dumb and just avoid Slade." He muttered as I rolled my eyes. "Yeah I know." "Okay bye love ya. I gotta go." "Bye love ya too. Hope the end of the trip goes great. Can't wait till you get back." I said happily as he chuckled and hung up. "Boyfriend?" "Best friend." I corrected as he nodded. "Sounds like a boyfriend." "Nah. He's too nice for me. I would run him over." I mumbled as Trent stopped in front of a house. "Well this is it." "Oh this is the old Mccain place. Its always been gorgeous." He nodded. "Want some water or something?" I shrugged. "Sure." I followed him inside and admired the beautiful entrance before following him into the kitchen. "Hey Trent. You finally home?" "Yes sir." He yelled back to what im assuming to be his father as an older, gruff looking version of Trent stepped in. "Oh hello. I didn't know Trent had a visitor. Im Mr. Weatherly." "Jacer Tucker. But you can call me Jace." "You can call me Michael." I nodded as Trent handed me a water bottle and my phone began to ring with Slade's ringtone. I didn't answer it as Mr. Weatherly raised an eyebrow. "So how did you two meet?" "I got lost." I rolled my eyes at Trent's bluntness as Mr. Weatherly smiled. "Well I was being me and he needed help so I thought why not?" "Thank you for bringing him home." Mr. Weatherly said as I nodded. My phone rang again as is sighed knowing it was Slade again. "Well I better get going." I sighed as I said a thank you and headed back home to where I knew everyone would be waiting for me. I just hoped they wouldn't give me a hard time or ask too many questions. But I had little faith in that.
