Chapter 22: Can I Sit At Your Side

iris pov

I was woken up by my alarm and groaned knowing what that meant. it was the end of winter break and back to hell. I know that I technically couldn't complain since I had a relaxing winter break but still I wish I could just keep living in peace.

I took a long shower before getting ready and putting my stuff together and heading out only to see milo get out of his own room

"hi iris" he greeted depressed

"hey, what's your deal?" I asked rising an eyebrow at his tone. usually he was Mr. sunshine in the morning

"I don't want to go to school. I have to be Easton whenever I go, I liked being with just you and Gwen" he announced while I scoffed looking down at him

"no one's really forcing you to be Easton" I pointed down as we walked down the stairs

"but my aunt told me to" he muttered while I only rolled my eyes. I'm seriously waiting for the day that a halo pops up hovering over his head

"morning" everyone greeted us when we got into the kitchen and they greeted back

"so, you guys ready to go back?" jay asked

"what do you think" I said while sitting down since Marcus made pancakes and I quickly attacked the tower of fluffiness

"you ready to go back?"

"I haven't been with my side lines in a while so yeah" milo said going into Easton mode

"MS Jackson should be happy about that" harper mumbled under breath

"Annabelle isn't down" milo noticed

"I made her breakfast in bed. can you cook?" Marcus asked

"I tried but I'm not very good at it" milo said truthfully

"it's ok kid you'll learn once you're older" Marcus said looking superior but then Milo scoffed

"pretty sure my girl will cook for me like she's supposed to" he announced

"excuse me?" both me and harper asked raising an eyebrow. I knew he was only acting but there was a line

"and he's dead" Ryder announced

"of course, she'll cook, while I'll bring home the money and she takes care of the house in the end its split up fairly isn't it" he asked and harper looked like she was falling for it

"and just what makes you think she doesn't want to do anything else with her life?" I asked

"if she does that's alright, but I'd rather her have dinner ready so we can eat together when I get home" he declared while I only gave him a look

"awwww" harper cooed falling for it

"you're still cooking though" she told Marcus before he could even ask making me and milo chuckle while the others were quiet for some reason. once we were done eating we headed to the garage and I hopped on my bike with milo soon behind

"you know you two could ride with me" Ryder pointed out by his Camaro

"it's cool, see you in class" I said before taking off

"I'm sorry about the women comment earlier, I didn't mean it" milo quickly apologized while I only rolled my eyes. Well its not like I was going to give him shit for it

once we got to school we headed to class only ever since we walked into the castle I noticed that I was getting stares from most of the girls confusing me till I realized that I was walking with milo and we came into the portal together. the girls probably had a bunch of questions to ask but didn't want to get too close to me
