maybe i made a mistake
falling for you.
i've plunged straight into
a nightmare
that's imprisoned me
in a cell built with shadows,
trapped in endless darkness,
blind to the world.
i'm living in constant peril
and taking caution is unfamiliar to me.
i could be one step from disaster,
but for you,
with no hesitation,
i'd take that step.
i don't think
i could survive another day
living like this.
but sometimes,
a burst of bright lights
will illuminate this nightmare,
its blaze eating away at the dark,
and bring a rainbow of glorious hues
back into my sight.
and that almost makes everything
worth it.
