i was living in a palace
constructed by darkness
that my hands
fished out of my mind,
a ruler of a kingdom of chaos
who had lost all control.
but then you waltzed in
from the worn down castle gates,
your hands trailing across the iron bars,
and you stood upon the window's stage and
opened the blinds.
light poured in,
shining almost as bright as
the smile that glistened in your eyes
like the jewels you wear in your crown.
it was then
that i realized
i wanted
to conquer this life
with you by my side,
i wanted
you
to be my
queen.
