<the next day>

Tris and I a sitting on the bed, singing along to the music on her phone.
Her playlist isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Plenty of R&B music, along with pop and the sad but beautiful songs she plays on the piano.

She is so talented, so beautiful, so perfect.

But everything she has gone through, really breaks my heart to know I wasn't there for her in middle school, or when her mother died.

From the moment I first saw her, I knew something was troubling her, and I wanted to help.

See, I used to be in the selfless group, but when I turned sixteen, I left.

The club they held was community service, cleaning the school, tutoring, and all that stuff.

I wanted something exciting to do.
So I quit and joined the "rebels."

Tris always looked like a selfless person, and she is, but deep down, she is a courageous young woman, who isn't afraid to put her own life at risk.

That is what I love about her.
She is so smart too.

Probably the smartest person I've ever met.

She can figure out any question you throw at her.
I just don't understand why people don't take Tris seriously.
Yeah she has hit quite a bit of bumps in her life, but that doesn't mean her life is screwed forever.

I think it is safe to say now, that I Love Beatrice Prior.

"Tobias." Says Tris, waving her hand in front of my face.
The music stopped playing.

"Are you okay? You haven't said anything the past five minutes."

I shake my head.
"I'm fine. I was just thinking." I say.
"About what?" She asks.

"You." I say.

I don't know if I should tell her so soon.
But I really do love her.

I hope she feels the same about me.

"What about me?" She asks, all curious now.

I look her in her beautiful gray eyes.
"I was thinking about how much you mean to me." I say.
"And Tris." I grab her hands, intertwining her fingers with mine.

"I love you, Beatrice. I know it might just be a shout out into the void, but I'm taking that risk."

Her eyes water.
"A Fault In Our Stars quote. Really?" She says with a little laugh.

I chuckle.
I shrug.

A tear falls down her cheek.
I wipe it away with my thumb.

"I love you too, Tobias Eaton." She says, pulling me to her, hugging me tightly, like I might leave her in any second.

I hug her back.
She loves me.
