I didn't know where to go, and I didn't have anywhere to go.

It felt like my life was just empty.

I returned back to the park bench just to pick up my stuff.

I didn't understand why my life had to be so complicated like this.

I sat on that bench on what felt like for hours but maybe it was just minutes.

Until I heard the sound of a car stop.

I looked up at it only to realize my best friend had come to save the day.

Evie got out of her car and stood there with her arms opened.

I ran to her and hugged her.

I think I even started crying, but I can't even remember.

She said to me, "You know for a girl who got kicked out of her house, you look pretty sad."

I asked, "How did you know I got kicked out?"

She pulled out her tiny little flip phone and showed me a message she received from Bob which said:

"Just wanted to tell you Heather got kicked outta our house.

She's probably somewhere down at the park would be my guess.

Anyways, don't come at our house again cause any of her friends are unwanted.

By the way tell her that Sodapop Curtis guy came by earlier.

Ha, he ain't coming back ever again."

I gave her a questioning look and asked, "Soda was looking for me?"

She half-smiled and replied, "Yeah, Soda told me he wanted to apologize to you."

I said, "Can you take me to the DX."

She smiled fully and replied, "I was headed just that way."

I put my suitcase in her car as she drove both of us down to the DX.

When she pulled up to the DX, she said, "Switch places with me and I'll tell Soda that he has a customer."

I smiled and said, "Ok."

She got out of the car and I watched as she walked inside.

That was my cue, so I climbed over seats to the front.

I accidentally hit the horn to so it went "BOOOOOOOONK! Bonk!"

I tightly closed my eyes thinking, "Idiot"

As I sat down in the drivers spot, I watched as Soda came out.

I rolled down the window and when he saw it was me, he smiled:
