stuttering?"
"I thought you died or
something! Thank god
you're okay."
"Oh."
"So... How have you been?"
"Fine."
"Don't you want to talk to
me anymore?"
"I don't know."
"..."
"My dad died."
"What the he-? Wait what?
He died? Oh shit!"
"Pretty much exactly what
I said. Oh shit."
"Aimee..."
"Don't say anything. I
understand."
"Oh god Aimee, is that why
you weren't answering my calls?"
"That's half of it."
"What's the other half?"
"Well, when you got mad
at me, I decided I wasn't going
to talk to you anymore."
"...Aimee. You know I'm
sorry right?"
"I don't know. You never
apologized."
"What? Yes I did! Didn't
you get my voicemails?"
"Oh, those. No I didn't.
Like I said, I was trying to
distance myself from you.
You've really taken over my
life, Caleb. In a good and bad
way. I thought it was all bad
at that time so I stopped
answering your calls. And my
dad was dying, I needed to spend
as much time with him as
possible. But, last week my dad
died. He actually lived a lot
longer than the doctors
expected."
"So why did you call me
if you don't want to talk?"
"I felt guilty for ignoring
you. You were... everywhere.
I talked to you at the hospital
where my dad took his last
breath. At the grocery store.
When I was supposed to be
babysitting Will. I thought
it was wrong. I didn't want to
get so attached to someone. You
made it kind of impossible.
So I called you to tell you that
I don't want to talk anymore but,
when I h-heard your v-voice, I
changed my mind."
"What do you mean? You
heard my voice, and you
changed your mind?"
"Yes. I really missed you.
All I wanted when dad died
was talk to you. I needed a
friend. But I had made a
promise to myself. But when I
heard your voice, I realized
how much I... cared for you."
"..."
"Was that-? Should I-? I
mean, forget I said-."
"Aimee. No, I just need
to process it. Do you mean
it? You like me?"
"I like you a lot, Caleb."
"Wow. Um, I thought I
was the only one. I
really like you too,
Strawberry."

Aaaaaand they're back to normal!
Well maybe a different kind
of normal, now that they finally
admitted they like each other.
Isn't it annoying reading a book where
two people like each other but refuse
to admit it? Yeah, I hope I
annoyed all of you.
