It's been 7 months since my... mom... came

My dad didn't take the news very well, so he went on a vacation

He said he needed to think about all of this and then he would come back

It's been very hard for me to get used to her presence but the kids love her more than anything

"Grace why are you all dressed up?"

"Aunt Amanda is taking us out"

"Aunt Amanda huh?"

"Yeah"

Apparently she changed her name

"Honey she is not even your aunt"

"She said we should call her that"

"Where is she taking you?"

"To a party"

"A party? Is that so?"

"Yeah! Se said it would be fun"

"Where is she right now sweetheart?"

"Kitchen I think"

"Thank you love"

I went to the kitchen and she was all dressed up too

"What the hell 'Amanda'?

"Hello Ariana"

"Don't 'hello Ariana' me"

"Is something wrong?"

Is she trying to piss me off or what?

"You never told me about some party you are taking my kids to!"

"Oh that, I thought it would be a good idea"

"A good idea? What the hell?"

"I'm so sorry, they said they were bored so I thought I would take them to a party"

"They are 5 years old!"

"I'm sorry Ariana, I'm just trying to make them like me"

"Then take them somewhere else! Not a fucking party!"

"Can I take them to the park?"

"Fine, but no funny business, and I'm coming too"

We went to the park and sat down while the kids played

"So why did you change your name 'mom'?"

"You can stop saying mom that way, if you don't want to call me mom, then don't, I don't deserve it anyway"

"Fine, Amanda, why did you change your name?"

"I thought that maybe that way I could forget who I was before"

"If you change your name, your actions and your reputation stay the same"
