I sighed in frustration when I saw the car going away. I looked around, trying to think about where they took them, but I had no idea.

"Damn it." I muttered. I texted Jace to inform him of what had happened and I went back to the loft.

I entered Brielle's room and started to walk around. I took the first object I saw and threw it against the wall. How could I let this happen? A few moments later, Jace bursted through the door looking around.

"Where are they? Where's Clary?" Jace asked me as he walked towards me. I sighed.

"They're gone." I said

"What do you mean gone?" Izzy asked me who was standing behind Jace.

"She, Brielle and Simon got arrested when I was securing the fire escape. I-I got distracted." I stammered.

"Wait, the mundane was here?" Jace asked with widened eyes.

"Simon? He's gone too?" Izzy asked worried.

"It was an unmarked car. I.. I don't know where they took them." I said. Jace took a step closer to me.

"What did you do, Alec?" Jace asked me while looking at me, anger was evident on his voice. I looked away, unable to say anything. He turned around and grabbed a weird piece of burned paper before storming out of the room. Izzy and I shared a quick look before following him. She took Brielle's bag on the way out and I grabbed her blade.

When we caught up, we found Jace already outside trying to track them.

"Damn it. They're not showing up." Jace sighed in frustration. He turned around to look at me. "We need to parabatai track." He said as he approached me. I gave him my hand for him to draw a rune. We grabbed the piece of paper together and started to track them. Nothing.

"Alec, concentrate." Jace said to me. We tried again. Nothing. "Alec." Jace muttered and I glared at him.

"I'm doing it. They're not showing up." I said and Jace pulled away.

"Just like I thought. They weren't arrested." Izzy informed us. Jace walked a few feet away, but then walked back to stand in front of me.

"It was your job to look after them." He said angrily.

"I did my best Jace." I snapped.

"Then maybe your mother was right and your best isn't just good enough!" Jace snapped at me. I rolled my eyes.

"Jace!" Izzy stepped in.

I've had enough.

"Are you so blind for your feelings for Clary that you can't actually understand what's going on?" I asked him and he just limited to glare at me. "Brielle was the one who snuck out. I went after her, to protect her. I don't know how the hell Clary got there. So maybe, if you didn't have your head so far up your ass, you'd realize that they didn't just only took someone you care about, they took someone I care about too." I muttered angrily. He seemed taken back for a moment and didn't say anything. I sighed in frustration as Izzy walked up to me.

"So you admit it, you care about her. You care about Brielle." Izzy said to me with a small smile on her face. I immediately regretted what I said. Izzy was never gonna let it go.
