The entire place had dead warlocks and Circle members sporadically placed around and my heart jerked at it. So I was thankful when Magnus magically moved the apartment to another location.

"Thank you, for defending the warlocks," Magnus spoke to Isabelle, handing her the necklace she had fallen in love with.

"I couldn't." She told him.

"Oh, but you could. And you should." He said a few more things to her but I didn't listen. I was still shaken up from earlier but when Clary spoke aloud, I couldn't help but listen to the conversation.

"Are you certain? Summoning such a powerful demon could be lethal." Magnus informed the younger girl.

"I'll do anything to save my mother. Where is the demon." I had to give it to her, she was brave for being new.

"Okay. Pretty boy, get your team ready." Jace stood straight and looked at his parabatai.

"You know what to do." He walked forward but Magnus put his hand against Jace's chest, stopping him.

"I'm not talking about you," He pushed him back and pointed to Alec. "I'm talking to you." He smiled at Alec and Izzy and I looked to each other with brows raised. The warlock and Clary walked to a different room. "Shadowhunter," We heard him call to Jace who then walked into the room.

I focused on Alec and Izzy who were speaking separately so I sighed and plopped on the couch. In mid plop, Alec pointed at me.

"Up, I need to give you a rune." I sighed and stood back up, facing him. He looked me in the eyes, "The memory demon is a greater demon-"

"Yeah, I know." He looked at me confused. "Oh, I mean Valentine had a few books where he'd go and when he'd leave, I'd grab some and read them. There were a few about demons." He nodded.

"The rune is the most painful, can you handle it in case we need you in there?" I took a deep breath and nodded to him.

I looked to the floor, "Pain I'm used to, demons I'm not." He didn't say anything, just nodded back at me and motioned for me to turn around. I moved my hair out of my face, making room on the back of my shoulder. He took out his stele and began tracing the rune on my skin.

It was painful, but nothing was worse than Valentine trying to rid me of my family's legacy.

"I probably should've told you, only five people can be in there. She'll have to remain in here, no matter what." Magnus looked at me seriously, making sure I knew.

"I will." I looked at Alec who was hesitant. "If I was on Valentine's side, I wouldn't have saved you earlier and I wouldn't have warned you about the Circle member at the rave," I told him. He took a deep breath and sighed.

"Fine, but stay in this room." I nodded and saluted him.

"Aye aye, captain." A small smile slide on his lips before he left with the others to the other room with Clary.

This time, I plopped on the couch uninterrupted and Magnus glanced at me, "You're welcome to any alcohol and books."

I had heard screaming and wanted to go in, but he told me no matter what to not go. So I was a little bummed I missed whatever had happened. But, when Magnus finally walked out of the room, I jumped up.
