Chapter 1: Rely On Me

Hawk's Pov ❄

"Gahh... My grandma keeps trying to set me up with so many princesses..." I complained, I know complaining isn't really my thing but I've just been getting really really really REALLY annoyed

"I'm sure everything will work out, Hawk" Rose said, attempting to comfort me

"Yeahh but this has been going on since I was a kid. before. I. even. knew. what. was. happening." I stated, Rose seemed a bit unsure how to respond so I just shut up

"Sorry for complaining..." I said after a long pause

"Oh, no, no! It's fine, really! If you want to talk-er... vent, You can always rely on me" Rose quickly replied, stammering slightly, her statement caused me to relax a bit, even though she didn't really say much. Just telling her about my problems really calms me down, and at this point... I feel like I kind of need her

"Me too..." I replied, however, my head was still somewhat in the clouds

"Wha?" Rose seemed a bit puzzled

"O-Oh, I mean, you can rely on me too. I'll be there for you" I corrected myself

"Oh... Thanks" Rose replied, her face seeming to darken with a red tint. After a moment of silence, I checked the time and sighed deeply

"What is it, Hawk?" Rose questioned, seeming to pick up on my depressed sigh

"I have to head home, I have a family meeting" I said, trying to hide my annoyance of having to leave her

"Oh! Okay, sorry to prevent you from going!" Rose said, apologizing... If only she knew how much she helped me be willing to go to these things in the first place.

"Don't worry, Rose! It's fine, I had fun hanging out with you, anyway" I assured her, she seemed to relax a bit

"Well, thanks for helping me study, see you tomorrow then?" Rose questioned

"Definitely" I said before I turned around and started walking and the walk slowly escalated into a run, and once I began leaving her sight I could hear her shout

"Good luck!"

I couldn't help but grin in joy as I continued running to my castle, completely prepared for the meeting.

Rose's Pov ❤

As I watched Hawk run off I felt my heart sink ever so slightly when suddenly I felt my phone vibrating and heard my ringtone go off

"Hello?" I said, answering the phone

"Are you coming home soon?" I could immediately tell it was my mom

"Yeah, I'm heading back to earth right now, actually" I said as I began walking to the portal

"Okay, see you in a bit, sweetie" my mom said

"Yeah, see ya mom" I hung up and put the key in the pillar like key hole and opened the gateway to earth, I walked through and began walking home, when suddenly I saw Xander, a new student at Regal Academy, who, was the grandson of Goldilocks and happened to live on earth as well, and, happened to have a huge crush on Astoria, hehe~!

"Hey, Xander!" I called out, he looked over at me and waved

"Hey, Rose!" Xander said as he walked up to me

"What exactly are you doing out right now, anyways?" I asked, he took a deep breath a moment and sighed

"Work" he said blandly

"Ah, well good luck!" I said

"Thanks, by the way, how did the study... thing with Hawk go?" Xander asked as he remembered why I stayed at school longer

"Ah, it was great! I think... I'm pretty sure I understand the majority of what we were supposed to study." I replied

"I bet Astoria will be happy about that" Xander said with a slight chuckle, I giggled lightly in response

"Yeah, probably, well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I said, he nodded

"Yeah, I guess I should go to work, bye!" He said, waving at me with a bright smile and he walked away, and so I continued walking home... After a quick walk of me humming to myself I arrived at the doorstep of my home, I opened the door and tried to be very careful of hitting my head or getting my hair caught in the doors as that is rather common.

"Welcome back, Rose!" I heard my dad say as he lifted his head from the newspaper he was reading

"Hi, dad!" I greeted when I saw my mom come out of the laundry room with a load of laundry that had to be folded

"Ah, glad you made it, your grandma is coming over soon." My mom said

"Dad's side, I'm guessing?" I said, my mom shook her head

"Headmistress Cinderella, she wanted to have a bit of a family get-together" My mom explained briefly

"Oh! Really?" I questioned in disbelief

"Yep, you should change out of your uniform, I'm getting dinner ready" my mom said

"Okay, I'll be down in a bit mom-oh, and would you like help with the laundry?" I asked

"That would be great, sweetie" My mom said, I quickly nodded as I darted upstairs to get dressed in normal clothes, just simple shorts for around the house and a loose blue t-shirt which happened to bring out my eyes a bit, after I put my hair up in a ponytail I quickly went downstairs and helped my mom out with the laundry, and almost immediately after we finished the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it!" I exclaimed as I scampered to the door, nearly tripping over my own feet, I opened it quickly to reveal Headmistress Cinderella with her hair down and curled and she was wearing a light blue sweater, bluish gray jeans, and gorgeous boots

"Granny!" I exclaimed excitedly as I hugged her, and she immediately returned the hug

"Hello Rose" Cinderella said as we ended the hug

"Come on in, grandma!" I said, she stepped inside and I closed the door

"Dinner is nearly ready" I heard my mom say from the kitchen

"Awesome!!" I squealed a bit in excitement, my grandma, the original Cinderella, was in my home, and gah, it's all so surreal. My grandma greeted my dad and the three of us all talked about the fairytale land and such, my mom finished the dinner and the four of us continued the conversation during the meal, it was really a crazy surprise
