A heart of steel

Your heart is armoured in platinum steel,

That cannot be opened by any key.

Hard and strong, you risk to love,

But then your steel heart breaks.

You tried so hard, yet it all collapsed,

With the shards of your metallic heart.

As they fell, I stared at them and hoped,

That you'd let me pick them up.

Metal littered the dirt covered ground,

Shining under the midday sun.

I stared in your deep brown eyes,

Which held permission for me to help.

I tried to help, I tried to pick them up,

But all I got was blood covered hands.

This was why no one loved you,

They didn't want to be left with a sliced heart.

They didn't want a heart like mine...
