"Well, now that he is gone." Mia stood from the bed, pulling the covers off Lillian's legs, a brilliant smile spreading across her lips before continuing. "I know this is a lot to take in, but I will help you with anything. All you've gotta do is ask."

Lillian's heart skipped a beat as she stared the beautiful woman before her, confused on what would make her want to help someone she barely knew. Slowly, she could feel her own smile start to spread over her lips.

"Thank you." The barest whisper passed Lillian's lips, making Mia stopped as she looked back her. A faint pink flush graced Lillian's cheeks as she continued. "I don't have anyone that I am close to. But thank you again for doing something like this for someone you know nothing about. I'm not sure I would do the same if I was in your position."

Mia grabbed Lillian's hands jerking slightly, urging her to stand. Lillian followed without resistance, looking down into Mia's bright sapphire eyes. The smile was now gone from Mia's face as she looked up in Lillian's, studying her every feature.

"Don't be silly. You're a better person than you give yourself credit for. I can tell life has never been easy for you. The way you won't make eye contact. The way that you chew on your bottom lip as if your very life depends on it." Briefly closing her eyes Mia took a deep breath. "You are more special than you give yourself credit for."

Before Lillian knew what was happening, Mia had her arms wrapped around her body. Encircling her waist in a tight hug that made it difficult to breath. Lillian stood awkwardly, her arms ajar from her body as she fought with trying to decide what she wanted to do. In seconds following the sudden affection, Mia felt her own smaller body being encased with Lillian's return of her hug. Closing her eyes, Mia tightened her hold on Lillian.

"We will be best friends, y'know that don't you?" Mia's question didn't even faze Lillian.

"Yes. We definitely will be."

Mia released her hold on Lillian, moving just far enough away that she could look Lillian in the eye.

"I'm glad that you feel the same way." Smiling brightly she continued. "How about we get you cleaned up and then we can meet Roman down stairs."

Lillian's lips twitched as she tried her best not to smile at how Mia was acting.

"I think that is a great idea."

Taking Mia's hand in her own, she allowed herself to be lead to a nearby door that was obviously the bathroom. Once she was left to her own thoughts as the semi-hot water sprayed down over Lillian's head; her mind running in every direction never stopping for long on one single thought. She had so many questions for Roman, but the first would be why he brought her here instead of taking her to a hospital like a normal person. She had felt like something was off with him, hiding something just below the surface of a perfect smile. Taking a deep breath she prepared herself for a numerous amounts of possibilities, readying herself mentally just in case it was something she didn't want to hear.

Lathering the shampoo in her hair she set her mind, that Roman was not to be trusted as far as he could be seen/heard. Every instinct that she has had to rely on for her own survival all these years were telling her everything that she needed to know.

Roman was not who he said he was.

Author's Note:

I know some people who have read my wonderful book prior to 3 weeks ago, had noticed that it was originally 20+ chapters long. I decided to take nearly all the chapters down, and revamp them into smaller portions. That being said, I will be posting 2 REVAMPED chapters every week.

I will make a update apologizing if I am not able to, only due to family issues with my oldest daughter. For those who do not know what is going on, I will fill you in quickly.

She is 7 years old and severely disabled to the point where she is under constant supervision. She has severe seizure episodes on a daily bases, and has many appointments during the week. At this point we are fairly certain that she has a growth on her brain that is causing a lot of her issues and in which turn will most likely turn into a need for brain surgery.

I love writing this story and she is one of my biggest cheerleaders to write it. So I will do everything in my power to make my updates.

Thank you for reading my book thus far!
