I was walking down Main Street, trying to think of how I was going to break the news to Goku. I know if I can tell him, and he accepts me, he'll be able to break it to the guys. But how should I tell him? How did Chi-Chi tell him when she got pregnant with Gohan? Thoughts rushed through my mind as I wandered into a grocery store. I want to tell Gohan too, since he's going to be a big brother...maybe I could tell the both of them over dinner...yeah that would be my best bet. That way, Goku can't go crazy because Gohan would be there and if he does, Gohan would probably step in and stop his dad from doing something stupid...yeah, that's what I'll do. I'll tell them both tonight.
I walked off into a corner of the produce aisle, taking out my phone and calling Gohan. "Hey Nani, what's up?"
"What do you want for dinner tonight? I want to make a special meal for you and your father." I could hear him thinking but the other line was silent. "Something preferably not involving blueberries or fish."
"Hey, dad, what do you want for dinner?" I heard Gohan yell over his shoulder. Goku shouted something and Gohan's voice came back on the phone. "Dad said something with meat. I wouldn't mind steaks or something." He said, sounding bored.
"Both of you are no help." I whined, looking through the apples. "I guess I'll figure something out. How does Sukiyaki sound?" I asked.
"Sounds good to me, but you know dad needs a lot of that to fill him up."
"Trust me, I know. I can make some side dishes and some desserts." I said, grabbing some onions and putting them into a plastic bag. "I need a cart, don't I?" I laughed to myself, my mind reeling about how tonight was going to play out.
"Do you want some help shopping?" Gohan offered. "I'm bored at home and don't really feel like training today."
"I'm fine, thank you though."
"Are you sure? Can I at least tag along??" He begged and I imagined his eyes were puppy-dogging.
"Sure, if it'll make you feel better." Truth be told, having him around would probably only make me feel better. Gohan hung up and I began to wander around the produce area, grabbing all sorts of vegetables and fruits. I glanced around, wondering how long it would take Gohan to reach the store and if he was bringing his father along with him. I got out my phone, waiting off to the side again and called Bulma, knowing Riku was still with her.
"Hello?" Riku answered, his voice dripping with concern.
"Hey, so I just got done at the doctors." I heard myself go on speaker and took a deep breath, preparing for what was next. "They said I have a bad case of food poisoning, and they've got me on antibiotics to help kick it out of my system. And they've got me on a strong antibiotic, which negatively impacts my birth control, so they took out my insert and I'm supposed to let my body relax."
"That's strange." Bulma said in the background. "But you're okay?" She asked.
I spotted Gohan entering the store, alone, his hair fluffy from the wind. "At least that's what I'm told. I'm supposed to relax for a while and let my antibiotics work. But hey, I gotta go. I'm getting stuff for dinner and Gohan just walked in."
"What? No! You should come back to the C.C!" Bulma growled.
"Or at least come back home! If you are having health issues, then you need to be home and where you can get to doctor in a reasonable amount of time!" Riku yelled.
"Guys, I'll be fine. I promise. But let's meet up soon again, for tea or something." They both began to object but I cut them off. "Well, I love you both. Gotta go, buh-bye!" Click.
