You sat next to Dean in the seat of the Impala with your hand intertwined. His thumb was absentmindedly playing with the engagement ring on your finger, something he did when he was nervous. "Something wrong?" You asked looking at your fiance.

"What makes you think something is wrong?" Dean asked giving you a side smile.

"Well, for one we are about to see your Father, and secondly, you still haven't told him that we're engaged." You said knowing him too well. Dean's jaw clenched letting you know you got it right on the nose. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm terrified."

Sam peeked his head up between you two. "He'll love you, Y/N." Sam chided in.

"Isn't it Dean's job to make me feel better?" You smiled over at Sam, which made Dean give you both a glare. "Dean, you can't tell me that Dad will yell at you for getting engaged."

"He always told us not to be in relationships. Especially one that hunts." He said. "He'll think that I compromise hunts by worry about you."

You laughed. "You do." You said. "Even though I've saved both your asses more times than you've saved mine. I've been hunting my whole life just like you two, I don't think your Dad has to worry about me slowing you down."

"Dad won't see it that way." Dean muttered.

Seeing the looks on their faces made you clench your jaw. Dean and Sam, well mostly Sam, told you about their childhood. Saying John Winchester was terrible father was an understatement in your mind, and you didn't tell the boys, but when you met him you were going to give him a piece of your mind.

*****

Dean stopped the Impala and parked it next to a tall black truck, and standing outside the truck was a handsome older man. You knew right away who it was, and you put on your hunter face. You all got out of the car, and Sam and Dean both gave him a quick handshake and mumbled what you heard was 'sir', something that irked you more.

John looked at you blankly. "And who are you?" He asked eyeing you down, probably assessing you for threats.

"Dad, this is Y/N L/N." Dean said.

John nodded. "You part of the L/N family?" He asked, and you nodded stiffly. He peered back at Dean. "Why is she traveling with you?"

Dean took a step towards you, and then wrapped his one arm around your waist and pulled you into his side. "She's my fiancee." He said trying to sound confident.

There was a long silence as John looked between you and Dean, and every now and then glancing to Sam as if asking if it was true. "Your fiancee? Please don't tell your for real?"

"Is there a problem?" You asked bitterly.

John looked at you harshly, but you didn't back down, you looked his straight in the eyes. "Yes, I do have a problem." He looked over at Dean. "You can't have known her for long, and yet you're engaged! I thought you had better sense than that!"

Dean flinched at John's harsh words, and that just made you more mad. "Better sense?!" You snapped. "You have no room to talk about better sense!"

"Y/N!" Dean whispered, and he tried to push you behind him, and you weren't sure if it was more for your protection or Johns.

"No, I have a bone to pick with him." You pushed passed him, and stormed towards John. "You are a terrible father!" Sam gasped behind you like an old southern lady. "You treat your sons, who are two of the greatest people I know, like shit! They save so many lives, and they do so many great things, despite their childhood."

"I raised them to be that way, so don't lecture me!" John spoke in a deep voice.

"They thrived despite how you raised them." You hissed. "And I couldn't be happier because if our kids grew up with a father like you, than I would have never had said yes to your son." With that you turned and stormed off.

The three Winchesters were left standing there with a mixture of faces. Sam was wide eyed and was holding back a smirk. Dean looked scared, and his hand was hovering over his gun ready to use it if things turned south. John followed you with his eyes as he held a blank expression. After a few minutes of silence a small smile broke across his face. "She'll make a damn fine Winchester." He said which made the two brothers look at him surprised.
