"So...what Nanu told me was true?"

Guzma didn't say anything, which was his way of saying yes. "I'm...I'm sorry that happened to you, Guzma."

"S'fine." Guzma shrugged. "Not like it's happenin' anymore."

Nothing was said after that. The two of you dangled your legs off the side of the dock, as you were waiting for a boat to Unova. While you had the money to get an actual ticket, you could only afford one, so that one went to Guzma. You were in the process of forging your own off the real one, which you knew made Guzma a bit nervous because now wasn't the time for you to get caught.

"By the way, you should really get some pokéballs for your team." Guzma commented, glancing over to Myst, Skylar, and a new party member, a Cutiefly, which you decided to name Peach, as well as a Wimpod you named Lotus.

"And why should I?" you raised an eyebrow, not looking away from your forged ticket. "They seem to be fine without it."

"Well yeah, but still." Guzma frowned. "Maybe just keep one out and have the others in their pokéballs."

"And have me choose between all these cuties?!" you giggled. "Hell nah, I'd be morally crushed after tha-"

Thwap.

The two of you looked over to see that Skylar had smacked Myst, knocking their disguise over. "Hey, calm dow-"

Before you could finish, Skylar suddenly began to glow, causing you to cover your eyes. Once the glowing had stopped, you looked to see that...she changed.

"Sylveon?!"

Skylar squeaked and rushed to your side, joyfully showing her new ribbons to you, which were more blue than pink due to being a shiny. You couldn't help but smile at the fact that Skylar evolved to a Sylveon out of all the evolutions possible for her.

"Looks like she got enough experience from smacking Myst that she evolved." Guzma chuckled as he fixed Myst's disguise. "Guess it's a good thing Myst's disguise took the hit for 'em."

Turning over to Guzma, you smiled. He had disbanded Team Skull a few weeks ago, so he had to ditch things like his necklace and unsymmetrical sunglasses for a symmetrical pair. However, he refused to ditch his jacket, so he taped over the skull on the back with red duct tape, which you thought was hilarious. "You see why I think ya need pokéballs for 'em now?" Guzma questioned. "'Cause crap like that can happen."

"Makes sense." you looked back to Skylar. "Would you be alright with a pokéball?"

Skylar smiled and nodded. The others didn't mind as well, as they were all close to you enough that they didn't care either way, as long as they were with you. With Guzma's help, you got all of your team their own pokéball, but you let Myst stay out of theirs.

By now, Myst and Skylar had come to forgive Guzma as well, slowly learning that he didn't mean for any of this to happen. Myst took out their shadow-esque claw and waved to Guzma for a high five, who soon returned the favor. You couldn't help but smile at how far Guzma has come. Despite his terrible past, with time and the right people, he'd grown to see his mistakes. While he's not perfect and still has problems related to his past, you didn't care. To you, he was great just the way he was.

Just then, the boat you were waiting for arrived. After some reluctant interaction with one of the employees, the two of you were able to get on the boat without any problems. Setting your backpack down and letting Myst hop onto your lap, you relaxed against Guzma's shoulder.

"Love you, loser." you smiled.

Guzma leaned his head on yours. "Love you too, loser."
