The Meeting

   David's POV

    So, here we are.. Stupidly staring at each other.. I should say something

I.. Umm.. Nice to meet you, I held out my hand for her to shake

I know she recognizes me.. But she's really hiding it well

Good day Mr. David Stone.. I was sent by my father Gregory William of H&Q Group for a special meeting here, she said.

What?! H&Q group?! Father?! She's his child?! They've been our competitors since like forever

By the way, what does she mean by special meeting and why am I hearing of this now?!

Oh.. Alright, I said. And you're?
Emily Williams, she said

Alright Miss Emily, please excuse my dad and I for a few minutes

Dad, I called. Yes son? He said
Please I need to talk to you

Emily's POV

I registered the shock on his face at first, but it was masked as quickly as it came.
I decided to pretend I didn't recognize him and plastered a fake smile on my face while I shook his hand and introduced myself

Then he excused himself and his dad..
Oh God, oh God.. I'm never stumping on a stranger's foot again.. Ever, I just hope to get through with this deal.  It seemed so important to dad

Though I could've given anything right now to be at a spa, in a sauna or getting a full body massage and treating my skin to a mud bath or..

Emily dear, a voice cut me off my reverie and I looked up to see a woman smiling at me.. Oh, Mrs Stone.. I forgot

Um. Yes ma'am, I answered
Oh don't be silly, call me Jessie. Though, she cut in, I'd love you to call me mom one day.
Mom?! I thought.. Why mom? I answered

I totally ship you and David she said and chuckled

Huh?! Eww

Umm.. I meant.. That'd be nice ma'am.. I mean Jessie ma'am.. But your son and I barely know each other and I don't think we'd be getting intimate either

Besides, he's too serious and acts all bossy, I muttered to myself

What was that dear? She said
Umm.. Nothing ma'am

Don't worry, you'll get to know him better my dear

Ha! As if!! I thought

Dear, she said, just call me Jessie. It makes me feel young

David's POV

Dad!!
Yes son?

You didn't care to let me know about this?! You completely caught me off guard!

David, I knew you'd never agree to this.. You've always loved the competition and you always feel you don't need help, but I'm still the chairman and we certainly need to collaborate with these people.. Our stocks will increase and profit will be made.. Loosen up son, it's just a one year contract and it'd benefit both companies

Hmm.. Alright dad, I'll do this

For the company.. I said

Umm.. Certainly not because of the beauty who stomped my foot over some cufflinks, I thought

Alright son.. Shall we go back and continue our meeting?

What? Oh.. Yea.. Yea sure, I said

Emily's POV

They're back.
Hmm.. I hope I still have this deal on
Okay, Miss Emily, Mr Stone said. My son is now the CEO of Stone Corp so all issues concerning our business with your company will be managed by him..

Since this is just a year contract and a big contract at that , I'd see to it that his manager would take care of other trivial matters and give him details on them..

But son, he looked at David, you'd be attending any important meeting on other businesses that I cannot handle

Alright dad, David said

Good, Mr Stone said..

Now, Miss Emily William.. Your father and I agreed that you'd be joining us at Stone Corp to douse any suspicions of other companies

What?!, I thought
It didn't occur to me. I thought I would be working from H&Q group

Ugh! Dad owes me a 2 month vacation to the Bahamas

Alright sir, I said... When do I start?
It's Friday, he said.. You'll start on Monday

Jeez, these people like to work

Okay sir, Anything else? I said
No dear, every other information would be sent by email.. My son would be working with you on every project concerning this deal

With that, we concluded the meeting
I'm so tired and I haven't even started working.. Can't wait to get home and soak myself up in a warm bath.. I'll use my galaxy themed bath bomb!!

All these were going through my mind while I walked to my car with a smile playing on my lips before a hand tapped me and I turned around

David, what's he doing here? Work isn't starting till Monday

Miss Emily, David said.. I look forward to working with you.. Though I have rules you need to follow..

Rules?! Who does he think he is??

What rules? I said, trying to calm myself down..
