Quest for Treasure!!

A/N: This title has nothing to do with the chapter but I do get carried away with things I read and watch so.. Back to the book me maidens and gents!

Hello Mr Stone, I regard him coolly.. Ms Williams he replies, sending me a curt nod.  I look further and site his parents sitting by his side.. Okay,  a full table I see.. Stretching for a hug and peck from Mrs Stone and a handshake and exchange of pleasantries from Mr Stone and wondering if their husbands were oblivious to their wife's mischief, I settle in on my seat.

Shortly after, someone steps on stage to commence the occasion and a round of snaps pour from all corners of the auditorium.

In no time,  the presentation is coming to an end and from the look of things, investors are bound to  pour in from all angles. I sneak a peek at the Stones, Mr David was sitting there looking like he would rather be anywhere else.  On the contrary, his dad was looking like he was living his best life.. Meanwhile, Mrs Stone was busy taking pictures with cute poses and cropping them to post on social media. How could this angelic woman survive with these men? One Stone male is enough for me but two?! Wow.

As the presentation comes to an end, it is time for the buffet, my favorite activity on the list. We file in the queue and serve ourselves.
   We walk to our table and dig in.. I glance at my parents and they give me a small smile which I returned.

I look at my mum again, feeling like she had something bugging her that she wanted to talk about.
Whenever she gets this way, I get scared because it is not, I repeat, NOT a good sign

David honey, she pipes up..  Oh God, I groan inwardly

Yes Mrs William..

Are you single? She asks with eagerness in her eyes

My eyes widen in shock. I throw her a look and she seems so unfazed by it.

I hear a chuckle and trace where it came from. Mr David?  Who knew he had the capacity.

No ma'am, still trying to build this empire..

Oh come on darling, his mom joins. You build an empire better with a woman beside you.. You can ask your father. The table erupts in laughter and I look from dad, to mom,  to the Stones and I conclude that they've gone bunkers!

I swallow my food quickly, knowing I wasn't the type to deprive myself because of some small discomfort.

I push my chair back and stand to leave.  Mom, dad..  I'll go check if the whole occasion is in order.  I peck them and curtsey to the Stones, dashing out immediately before anyone would say anything.

As I reach the garden outside and sit on one of the benches, I hear someone marching down my direction.

Coming face to face with none other than Mr David Stone.. Almighty douche bag.

So.. darling, he sneers, what do you think? I see our parents approve already..

Let's skip the formalities and call ourselves a couple already sweetheart.

I gag.. You and I? I scoff,  that is outrageous, preposterous and unbelievable!
We are not and can never be a thing, I retort

His eyes soften and I feel bad,  wanting to take back my words.
In a flash, it hardens again and he smirks.

Oh honey, we'll see about that.

It's either you love me or I love you for the both of us!

Oh my God.. Did he just threaten me?!

Okayyy.. Short chapter I guess.. Soo I know I haven't been writing in  David's POV for a while so... Stay tuned for the next chapter! Let's know what goes on in that bipolar mind of his..  Muhahahahaha!
