Soon Monday rolls around again. Everyone dreading school. Even Zoe and Alana. They don't have any classes together. But Evan has one with Zoe right after one with Alana.

"Alana uh... Wanted me to tell you you're pretty?" She giggles.

"Of course she did."

"So uh... What's that about? Are you..?"

"Uh... yeah. But no one knows except for you and Connor."

"Ah. Well... Congrats!"

"Thanks.. I feel kinda bad now. With the situation. It's confusing and complicated and I just wish my parents weren't homophobic." He speaks in a hushed voice

"I mean... Not really. I'm dating you but not really and Alana is dating you for real. Not that complicated."

"But then you have to add the fact that Alana is pretending to date Connor."

"... He is?"

"Yeah... I think it's just gonna get more complicated as it goes."

"Huh... Well, no one but us needs to know it's complexities, right?"

"That's the plan."

"So... Uh... Are you expecting me to close the circuit? Uh go out with Connor?"

"Only if you want. To be honest, I thought you and Jared would be a thing by now."

"O-Oh... Right... About that..."

"?"

"We... It's... We got drunk and... And made out, but I'm almost certain he was just drunk and lonely and... I guess desperate."

"You sure? Don't tell Jared I told you, but he's had a thing for you for years. To be honest so did Connor."

"O-Oh?" he sweats. Dang...

"Yeah. But if they ask, you didn't get that from me. They both will kill me."

"All right... Oh gosh..." after school Jared meets back up with Evan.

"So how was your day with Staring at Zoe Murphys butt all day?" He grins. Evan sweats.

"All right I guess..."

"So, I was thinking, if you weren't doing anything if you'd want to come over to my house and meet a couple of my friends from Xbox. They're really cool and want to meet you."

"Y-Yeah, sure, I can - yeah."

"Awesome, I'll be out by the car." As he walks away, his smile drops. He can tell something's wrong. Evan eventually makes his way to the van, nervous. More nervous than usual. They both get in the car and before Jared leaves he turns to him.

"Is everything alright? And don't lie to me."

"What? Yeah, everything is fine, why wouldn't something be fine? It's fine."

"Evan."

"Seriously, Jared, it's fine, everything is fine." He's fidgeting with his hands a lot. He refuses to make eye contact with Jared.

"Evan, I swear if that kid-" he's concerned.

"What? No! No, nothing like that, I- it's nothing, Jared, promise. Don't worry about it." Jared shuts up and turns back to the wheel, driving them to his house. Evan fidgets the whole way there. He's quiet. He needs to do something. They get there and head up to Jared's room again.

"I'm gonna call 'me on skype."

"Mhm. You do that." He's still being... Off. Jared keeps an eye on him. He calls them and at first it's just Michael on screen.

"Mikey!"

"Jared! My dude, good to see your dumb face again."

"Well this dumb face has another one with it this time. A less dumb face."

"Is it the guy that you-!" You can hear Jeremy in the distance.

"EVAN."

"Uh... Hey."

"So THIS is the infamous Evan Hansen. Precious Tree Boy."

"I, uh, I talk about you a lot."

"I... See."

"A whole hell of a lot. I could probably tell you things about yourself even you didn't know, Evan. That's how much you come up in conversation. "

"Michael. This is where you have to shut your big mouth."

"Yeah Michael, you're clearly embarrassing him in front of his-"

"You too Jeremy."

"Listen, my mouth is too big."

"Oh?"

"Stooooop." Jeremy and Jared laugh.

"Anyway, I'm Michael, this is Jeremy, and we're Jared's Xbox group."

"Well usually it's just Michael and Jared."

"But Jeremy makes an appearance sometimes."

"That's... That's cool." Jared looks at him with a worried look. He whispers.

"Seriously Evan. I know something is bothering you." Evan mumbles back

"It's not your problem, Jared, let it go."

"Uh... Is this a bad time?"

"No, it's fine. It's all good."

"Okay... So about Xbox." They talk for a very long while. Evan definitely relaxed a bit. Jared worries about him the whole time. Something happened and it's bothering him. Evan tells him everything, why not this?? He's gonna say something about it, really, he is, he just doesn't know how to go about

"Hey, you know that morning? When I took too long to get you an Advil? I was having a mini panic attack because the night before, we made out!! A lot!!"

"........ so you did remember?"

"I... Did. Yeah." He pauses.

"What else happened?"

"I just... You know, we... Definitely got a bit heated..."

"Did we....?"

"N-No, I don't think so..."

"Alright...... that probably means that I asked you to be mine as well..."

"Y-Yeah..."

"......... what did you say?"

"I... S-said yes." Jared snaps his head up to look at him. His heart racing a mile a minute.

"Seriously?"

"Uh... Y-Yeah. Yeah, I said yes."

"Drunk me actually had the Guts to do it....."

"I... Fuck, Jared," He's shaking a little.

"I spent the weekend thinking you'd just... Been drunk and lonely and... That it wouldn't matter..."

"Of course it does. I just was too scared to ask you another way...." he takes his hands to try and stop them from shaking.

"... You shouldn't have been. I'd say yes whether you were sober or not, Jared." He looks up at him.

"Can I kiss you?" Evan blushes hard and nods. Jared puts one hand on his face and pulls him close to connect their lips. Evan kisses him stiffly at first, but slowly relaxes into it, arms around Jared's neck. Jared's hands slide south to his hips. Evan slips a hand into Jared's hair. Jared makes the kiss last as long as he can. It lasts until Evan pulls away, panting lightly and asking

Jared, are you trying to suffocate me with your tongue?"

"Sorry..." he chuckles just a little. Evan smiles a bit.

"It would've been a nice way to go out. Death by too much love from Jared Kleinman."

"That's the best way to die." Evan pulls him back in for another slow kiss.
