We kissed for the longest time, it felt like.
We pulled back from the kiss. He grabbed my hands and said "don't tell anybody about me faking "my death"."
"Why?" I said
"I honestly don't want to explain to people what happened." He said
"I understand, but-"
"I only want you in my life." Adym said cutting me off.
I sigh.
"Sawyer is worried about you." I say
There was a moment of silence.
"I dont think Sawyer even cares about me." Adym said
"He does. He's been up all night investigating." I said.
Then my phone rings and I see Laura caller ID.
I answer and I say "hello?"
"Layla! I've been worried about you. Are you ok?" Laura said.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Where have you been? I haven't heard from you in a long time." I say
"I got a new job at this placed called Stameys. It's kind of lame. My mom made me work there with her." Laura says
"Stameys?" I say
"Yeah..I'm working in L.A. now, so I won't be around a lot." She said
"Me and Sawyer went there yesterday. We didn't see you." I say
"I wasn't working yesterday. But my mom was. She's a cashier there." She says
I almost drop my phone in shock.
"Is her name Kathy?"i ask
"Yeah yeah." Laura said
I hang up.
