"My brother." Martha added as she started to make bread for dinner. "He spends all day in the moor with the animals. Our relatives call him the animal whisperer. He's a good boy he is." She smiled.
"Oh." Mary said feeling a little bit foolish. "I think i would like this Deacon." She smiled.
"Then i will arrange a play date." Martha smiled.
"I found a small garden, may i keep it?" Mary asked.
"You will have to ask your uncle that question. Hes the owner of the property." She explained.
"Okay. Could you help me get garden things to clear the space if he says i can keep it?" She asked.
"I suppose so." Martha shrugged as she continued to kneed the bread. "Pound this with me." She asked. Mary obeyed. Mary, and Martha pounded the bread together, and suddenly Mrs. Medlock rushed in.
"He wants to speak with her." She said.
And suddenly, Mary was scared.
